This spring im going to be hitting up the drag strip once again in my 87 turbo. Its a local track and its only a 1/8th mile long. Im curious on if using an NA lsd would help me shave some time off runs? Going from 3.73 to 4.30 (correct me if im wrong) would be a substantial drop in gearing thats...
I found a couple short clips on my comp. First clip is the first start up of the sled in the build. Second video is me just messing around on the shops 09 turbo dragon. Its pretty much the same as the one in this build except boost is turned down to 11.2 psi. There were other sledders around and...
This is a purpose built hill climbing/deep powder sled. The guy that rides this one is around 280lbs and this unit performs excellent. The best part is he has over 1000 miles on it and there has been no mechanical issues what so ever. Just put in gas and oil, and ride. Shit we have even put...

If I where doing that id use a strap wrench with a long snipe on it. Get a friend to hold it, while you torq that baby down. wouldnt mark or damaged the pully either. I use my strap wrench to remove snowmobile clutches that have been spun on the crank and require like 220ft/lbs of torque to pop...
Check for cracks in your acoridian pipe to start. Then see if you can see any other rubber pipes are cracked or split. Pulling in air after the AFM can cause an irregular idle.
I actually did search for an fyi so dont be hatin. But you know it would have helped if I knew to put an astrix after a 3 letter word? Thanks for lettin me know.
That deff looks pretty good. I was thinking of using steel mesh on a stock hood for venting but I think you just changed my mind on that idea. Maybe throw some really small holed steel mesh in the holes where the metal is bent down for support? Would help keep rocks and/or what ever could fit in...
That was one of my reasonings for removing the EGR was to do some bay clean up. Its deff not worth it for what I have. I will go stand alone eventually but not on this car. Then I can do major clean up :biglaugh:
Perfect, thanks hyyman. I knew there had to be some kind of con behind the removal of it. Although, my 7M is not stock. The head been milled, block has been decked, arp head studs w/ hks hg.
Ive been searching around trying to find the pros and cons of removing the EGR system from the 7MGTE but I have had no luck so far in finding any info on it. I dont want to go ahead and add this mod to my list, just incase theres something I should have to look out for or worry about.
Thanks...
Well its all good now, I bypassed the heater. I would replace the heater core but its winter now and I am parking the car this week. Same as what CzA is doing.
Its a 5 speed. I believe I have some boost leaks somewhere in my intercooler piping haha. I need to replace almost every rubber line inside my engine bay. Everything has gone hard and brittle.
I looked around all over the place trying to see how some people have bypassed the heater core on a 7mgte. What I found for info was to connect the two coolant pipes at the back of the head. But my dilema is that there is three. The Line coming out of the top of the engine goes to the denso...
That doesnt look too bad, thanks for the info guys. I think Ill try and find a grey dash to exchange out my burgendy colored one. Perfect time to do it. :biglaugh:
