Fantastic progress!
I'm so envious of you right now, i want my engine to be done already!
Stupid missing pieces that take too long to arrive!
Can't wait to see a startup video! (hint hint nudge nudge :biglaugh:)
Is the crank pulley off for clearance?
I'm interested as well!
The price looks too good to be true, so I'm going to assume they're crappy, inaccurate gauges.
But I'm hoping someone with some knowledge about them will chime in!
I'd definitely like some good diagnostic gauges, before I'm ready to shell out the cash for Defi's!
Sounds like there may be a clog somewhere, radiator probably. Possibly the fan clutch, or water pump, but the pump seem pretty rugged, not too much to go wrong there, unless it's seized, but then i don't see your heat coming back down.
You did a MHG? How did you prep the surfaces?
Oh...
Very nice, i don't have a garage, but i was thinking of using my carport, build a frame to extend it out of PVC, and just tarps everywhere, when it comes time to paint :)
Wow, sounds amazing!
So how long is it still going to be at Ron's before you take it back home?
If you guys are going for a drive, or just gonna be working late tonight, i would love to see that car before it's gone!
Oh ok, it's actually bolted down now, thats an improvement :)
I did get some stickers in today, but not the ones with your name on it, i can give you a couple though. That first order got lost in the mail, i'll talk to him and get the right ones for you
As far as my car, i really don't know...
Making little bits of progress here and there.
But looking through the EPC, both the water pump page and the front plate page, which I initially followed when I loc-tited those studs in the front plate (around the water pump) So I'm not sure if i got em right, it doesn't seem like I did i...
I couldn't get a 550 ft/lb impact gun to take it off, even when it was torched!
I ended up having to wrap a chain around the engine stand, bolt it to 3-4 flywheel bolts (snapped about 2 trying this), put a large block of wood standing up under the crank shaft (i was putting so much torque on...
Awesome! I'm putting together my block, and it was so long ago that i stripped it down (8 or so months) It's hard to remember where anything goes, and going purely off the TSRM, it's hard to know exactly where each part is, plus it only shows one side!
So how bout a pic of the other side? :)
Kyle -
My car's actually been doing this today / yesterday again!
Anyways, were there alot of bubbles when you burped it? Sounds like it. Air shouldn't get back into the system once it's been burped, unless there's either a leak... or a BHG.
So when are ya gonna install that new HG?
^ Exactly what i was thinking, especially since this guys local(ish), and the price he sold that head for on ebay seems to good to be true, thats alot less than I payed for a stock rebuild!
I knew it was supposed to be at least 6"... not sure why randy put's his bungs so close to the stock O2 sensor!
A plug and a bung in the test pipe sounds like a easy fix though!
Anyone know the threadsize / pitch?
There has to be at least one good aftermarket filter, or some other solution for better flow, doesn't there?
Mostly, the stock airbox is really ugly, and takes up a fantastic IC pipe pathway
