I recently bought a used 7MGTE complete just to take apart and fool around with. I was told by the owner that it had 175 comp in all 6, no valve tap, no knock, no blue smoke. Normal 7M oil pressure. All spark plugs light mocha color with no indication of detonation or carbon. 135 K. The valve...
IMHO, you're machinest should be the best judge of that decision. He will be the guy that is taking the proper measuments to warrant if it is needed or not. Does he know about the previous condition of you're motor, did he see the bearings? Measure them? Are the cylinders scored, out of round ...
I might add. I have three original Denso oil filters in Toyota boxes for my supra. Japanese printing and all. I just looked and guess whats on the box? Made in Japan, Whew. You Guys are too young to remember but, when the Japanese bike scene came about in the late 60's early 70's (think vietnam...
Bought a clutch kit for a 87 celica from Elmhorst toyota, Thank you fryarms for the excellent service. Beautiful GEN_U_INE toyota box. On a sticker on the outside of the box---- MADE IN MEXICO I was like WTF. I was a little pissed. Even Toyota knows profit when it can be made. Here's a little...
Pete, install you're filter using the new copper washers. If it leaks I will treat you to the Hong Kong buffet on Fifth street. Get used to this chinese junk, people. It's here to stay. Say hello to the next world leaders. You wanted low prices, now ya got them. This country did it to itself...
I have aeromotive with summit liquid filled gauge set at 30-- engine run. Always reads correct. I read somewhere when you have a liquid filled gauge under the hood the heat from the engine will heat the gauge (liquid) and readings will be off. Then return to normal when cooled. FWIW, my...
Now, i cleaned the fw and pp with break parts cleaner and they came pretty clean. But my disk is now kinda brown oily colored. how do i clean it? break parts cleaner? should i even bother cleaning it or will it clean itself when i install it and use it?
IMHO, throw that disc in the garbage...
I can assume you got instructions with you're tool. Follow them to a T. I have made hundreds of flares over the years and it just takes a certain knack. It is not majic. Take you're time, prepare the tube properly with no short-cuts. Practice on a few old brake lines. You will make a perfect...
What kind of pin do i need to replace into the drive gear?
I used my old one. But, Napa can hook you up with the proper size. If the pin Napa supplies is too long you can just gring off the excess.
Hal, Clean the housing and shaft with carb clean. make sure there are no burrs on the shaft, especially around the drift pin area. They will tear you're new seal. Also the cover and gasket are probobly cracked- hard. They can be purchased at toyota for cheap.
Whats next? Using rubber band to hold the wastegate flapper shut so you can get more boost?
Man, I gotta look into that. I can get free rubber bands from where I work! What works best, the red ones or the brown?
also this may suond ghetto, but a cereral box will work in a pinch.
Not ghetto at all. Make those surfaces flat, I flat filed most of the sealing surfaces on my engine. You would be surprised how much they are off. They are always high at the mounting points. The result: A bone dry...
Whatever the outcome IJ good luck on you're build and have a good week. No hard feelings, I'm here to learn, and maybe help someone once in a while. Joe
no offence taken, This is all I can tell ya. Take it whatever way you want. The Cps from my car is 1987. I had an oil leak, it was dripping from the cps. I removed the cps and disasembled it. Inside the housing was a sealed bearing and a lip seal. The seal was hard as plastic and when I pushed...
