    Prolly easier to go just buy a new one, and use your old one as the core. They are usually 150-250 depending on the part, prolly more for a rarer car like a supra. rebuilding it is def. possible though.

    57 trim is a bigger turbine in the stock housing if I'm correct, it just means you can make more power at lower rpms, due to the bigger turbine (think bigger tire = more mph, but longer to get their) same concept..

    i assume you have an automatic? no that just means that your clutchs are shot (i'm pretty sure), and that they wont grab until rpms drop. Iv driven more then a few autos that have the same problem. (my camaro included) If its a manual, you got me ... cuz Id have no clue

    UPDATE So I got everything connected, the gears together, and the key in, and it all put back together, AND STILL NOTHING. I pulled it apart just enough to look at it, and the dam thing keeps flexing. The structure isnt rigid. I dont get this? Surely some of you have been through this...

    So I have the gears line up correctly and everything, but now I cant figure out how to get the lock cylinder portion back onto the column, and have that nipple go into the slot, without pushing it out of the track again.. blah, so confusing. Do I have to take the gear part w/ the slot back...

    why the hell would an MKiV use a 700r4? they're not that great, any serious drag strip guy would go th350, or th400 if they had serious power. stock rating for 700r4 was 280 hp. a stock th350 has seen 600ish hp. Ninja Edit: heres an article for you...

    I have a friend saying his friend has a 87 camaro, with 650 hp, all on a 700r4 transmission, and 10 bolt rear end. (if you dont know, even a built ass 700r4 can barely take 550, and he said the guy rebuilt it stock, and 10 bolt isnt good for shit)

    wait, i think I have you confused, if you see the second picture, I have that piece off seperately, and i'm trying to get it to mesh with the lock cylinder gear. the rod and the other pieces are seperate.
