    Mounting Subs in supra's trunk

The natural resonant frequency inside the supra, according to rob is ~45hz. So around 45 should be the loudest frequency you can achieve in the car. So if you tune a box to about 45hz and play a 45hz note, it will be louder than any other... In a nut shell, a little more complex than that but...

    I Need Some Good Sound!!!

Wow man, you really love those cheap little infinities. I gave my infinities away years ago when i realized what real sound quality means... For the price they are OK... but far from the best... on or off an amp. And besides, the installation, staging, timing, and enclosure will make more of a...

    Mounting Subs in supra's trunk

You left out the amps inefficiency... So add about 40% to the power draw you calculated because most class D amps are 60-75% efficient. They draw a bit more power than they put out. I would use an 80 amp fuse in line with the battery.

    Mounting Subs in supra's trunk

Ya . Just the right size by the looks of it? So thats a 15" L7... If i were to guess ^ cu/ft... And hopefully tuned around 25-33hz? Unless your tying for spl... Then a good 40-55hz should blow the supra to bits! Am i close?

    I Need Some Good Sound!!!

With the small system you are piecing together, no you shouldnt need a new alternator, but a nice battery will always be a good choice to run with. It will benefit more than just the stereo, and is cheaper and easier than a big alternator... And if i may make a recommendation on some subs, i had...

    Dual 12" Tire well enclosure.

Well guys i think you arent seeing the bigger picture just yet, stay posted and youll see what exactly im doing. The subs arent going to be sitting flush with the MDF. The just wont fit. Nor will the subs be mounted directly over the tire well, they will be facing forward more so than up towards...

    Mounting Subs in supra's trunk

U need 0 gauge wire to run to the alternator from the battery in the back as well as a battery isolator. The isolator will prevent one battery charging more than the other, and then the weak one pulling its charge from the good batter, thus making both batteries weak. And to stiffent the board...

    I Need Some Good Sound!!!

Umm... very basic. Over rated, poor sound quality, and poor build quality. Not THE worst, but nothing great either. What kind of budget are you on? If you on a bit of tighter budget, i would say look at alpine, kicker, rockford fosgate, polk, infinity, and MTX as they are the major main...

Well guys im at it finally. I have finally saved up the cash to build a custom enclosure for my 2 RE's to go in the spare tire well and also incorporate an amp rack for the 2 amps i have... I so far just have the bas molded in and a sheet of MDF mounted to it. Im in the process of mounting the...

    I Need Some Good Sound!!!

Some 6.5 components up front, set of 4" mids for the rear (not full range speakers), a 4 channel amp, and then a small 10" sub and ~300w rms amp for it and you should be plenty satified. Now what components you go with is up to you. You have a good head unit to start with, so now you have to...

Amp for SPEAKERS ONLY? Worth it?

You know sony used to make some of the best, if not the best mobile audio equipment back in the day. They stopped producing the line up back in the early 90's. It was a completely proprietary system and was the first ever fully optical car audio system. I had a customer that said he still had...

Amp for SPEAKERS ONLY? Worth it?

Yes i have seen them there, but they want big bucks for their stuff.... If i could find a good dealer, im sure i would save a few hundred. You are not correct on most of what you have said. A 4" speaker can produce tons of bass. Just the problem is the enclosure. The doors on the supra are...

Amp for SPEAKERS ONLY? Worth it?

I can agree with you 100% about all of that. Like you said, everyone hs a different perception of sound. I for instance, consider my self an audiophyle. Am i obsessed with it, no. But i will invest the money needed to get great sound in my car, regardless of what car it is....

Amp for SPEAKERS ONLY? Worth it?

Yes, i honestly can hear the difference! Sure, it will never be as clean as a home theater setup, i know that. But there is enough of a difference to buy high end equipment.
