Ya for now just a new intcooler and Im making hardpipes, but who knows I would love to build an ffim in the future. Right now I just want the car back together.
Thats the plan, I think Luis is going to come up to help me drop it in. I will still have a few things left to do after its in like finish fabbing ic pipes, and put the front end back together but it should be done in time. Im cutting a few corners such as holding off on ceramic & powdercoating...
the front is easy if you have the tranny out;
1. take off the bell housing
2. unbolt the imput shaft cover
3. pop out the seal
4. press the new one in with socket, pipe ect
5. clean and apply new rtv, and bolt everything back on, dont forget the locktite and to grease/oil the new seal...
heres the engine bay after being hit with basecoat
I had to do a little sanding and some touch up on the basecoat. You can see in the top picture I didnt pick the best tape line just under the winshield cowl on the firewall. I had a pint of paint basecoat that the prev owner said was...
Marlin Crawler FTW!
I found a NA in a junk yard, had a timing belt job done less than a thousand miles ago. Had the service sticker and everything. Looked like he had lost a valve retainer, cracked the head and chewed up a piston. someone had cut the timing belt to get the head off but I...
A few boxes containing some of the greatest things ever put on this earth; REDLINE and NEW TOYOTA PARTS!
Big thanks to Jeff at champion youv come through again
I wanted to go with the original mounts to retain as much of the "lexus ride" as possible but in the end the price just...
yep, even at 8 psi on the boss I would worry about fuel cut, I just didnt know how far I could turn the boost down. So the CT goes back on next time im home in spokane. Ill build another 7M just for the boss, and pick up a shell after Im done with my car.:naughty:
Well the drain line still uses a flange, so the stock one should still bolt up. Ill have to swap the fitting from the thermostat housing as this has the line threaded directly into it. If I can get that fitting, and as long as the oil supply line is still the same thread and I can put the banjo...
It made more than 400 by the time it was done:icon_bigg Ya it was sad, I got a few parts off the car. The worst part is they crushed it when it still had brand new interior pannelling all the way around. Most of the other good parts are on my brothers car, down pipe, exhaust, ic pipes, bov.
wow well, I figured Id be able to turn it down to at least 8-10 but I know that even at that the boss compressor housing flows so much mor air it would be fuel cut all day long. I knew it was unlikely but I figured Id ask since I have no experience with this turbo at low boost levels. I guess...
That was I was kinda figuring, Me and my brother have been saving the turbo for when we build a motor for it. Since I will only be running this motor in my car for 2-3 months, and dont have the time to get a set of 550s and a lex afm, I thought I might be able to turn the boost down enough for...
I am trying to get my car ready for the centrailia meet in a little over a month but I only get to work on my car every other weekend. I am putting the spair motor I have in for the next few months while I do a full rebuild on mine. The spair motor has 17k on it all original miles, and a boss...
