That goldy metallicy sheen is bearing material I am almost sure, which is not what you want to hear I know.
Did you clean the camshaft cores, I don't think just spraying compressed air etc through every port you can find is really gonna cut it for a antiseptic clean motor for a rebuild.
I...
Wow, just caught this thread way late, wonder what you ended up with?
I went low imped. injector because I was told by AEM that the injectors without the resistor box are more responsive, nicer at idle etc than running saturated. The aem series 2 only has peak and hold drivers for low imped...
I'm curious......everyone always says, supra owners arn't patient enough, don't do things right, supra's cost so much more than other cars.......
But do they really? If I had bought a similar car in 1990, I dunno what would be an equivalent boosted car from that year? And gone through all the...
Time to bust out the compound crossbow and compound bow I think then.
I'll never understand how a 16 year old can buy a comp-bow or cross-bow. It seems they seem to miss the whole...totally silent but still just as deadly....oh my is that an arrow that just went right through me....part.
But...
My bet is on your aging and likely crsipy CPS wiring or connectors. Even though everything can seem plugged in securely it can still be loose. It's a terrible location for wiring and connectors to live.
Super old thread here but I suppose still good info's.
I had found that the best way to get the gasket nice and clean without any scrubbing of any kind and no risk from damaging it due to scrubbing. Is to soak it in Laquer thinner, also known as Toluene. If you cannot get a large flat small...
Yup, it's a dime, I got some better pics of it now, but left my camera at my parents so will upload later. I'm feeling the urge to start working on my microminimill now, which would be far better suited to this tiny detail work.
Tried some mini aluminium milling last night on the challenge from a friend that anything really small would just turn out like a lump. I definitely can see some slop in my precision but overall am pleased. This is the big machine after all and not at all well suited to this miniture work...
I agree, not the place but since the man here has such an awsome and well read thread due to the stunning numbers I thought I'd add it in. As I said I blew my HKS metal stopper type hg. But others milage may vary. I was pushing 28psi through it at the time I seem to remember.....or was it more. LOL
I never had an issue with metal HG (HKS stopper type) until it was not retorqued. It's more the gasket settling in and squishing out than the bolts loosening that creates this issue. A retorque IS recommended and certainly will do no harm. But most certainly will do some good. Do the retorque...
Idle feedback rate on mine has to be around 250ms in order to prevent overcorrection and causing swinging back and forth. Also should be mentioned that the OP is using a series 2 box with aem tuner, not aem pro.
I just had to say that I have never seen anything like your car was at any level. To say you didn't cut any corners is a gross understatement. This man's car was without a doubt primary in being one of the cars that insipred me and even though it's gone, it still inspires my car related activities.
