    COLD air intake

Uhm, cowl hoods take air in, not let it out. Ever wonder why the old cars used those for air intake, or why your interior air vents are there (under the windshield)? It's not because the air is being exhausted, it's because it's a high pressure area, forcing air in if your car is moving at all...

    HAC hacking

The HAC has a range from way below sea level, to some stupid high mountain goat territory. At sea level it applies no correction. Screwing around with it, it seems to work basically like the AFM input of sorts. As for timing, it doesn't seem to make a difference on it's own account, so it's...

    camber adj

The stock suspension is adjustable for about anything you want, as long as it's not rusted solid, and you're not lowering more than about 2.5 inches. http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/fa/FA_03.html http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/ra/RA_03.html

    intercooler piping temp?

Play with a turbo calculator to see where you end up. The question is too vague to really answer, without at least some known input: http://www.stealth316.com/2-turbotemp.htm Underhood temps can be around 140F, so if you have an underhood filter, use that value. Turbo efficiency and boost...

    Gimmick or Usable Mod?

Here is a hint: 1) Air/fuel mixture in a chamber 2) Spark 3) Air/fuel mixture ignites by the spark plug, and progressively ignites the rest of the chamber mixture as the flame front travels. It doesn't matter if the original spark that gets this going is bazillion times more powerful...

    afm

It gives you zero extra horsepower, all else being equal. Only way to get more power out of this, is to crank up the boost. With the Lex AFM and fuel tunning/larger injectors, you can get more Hp this way. Clear as mud?

    Cam seals

You can use a wood or drywall screw, and thread it into the seal face area. Then pull it out with pliers. I find that works the best, as the seal has a metal insert so it gets a good grip.

How much mileage is too much?

Rust, and condition of the car will be more important criteria than mileage alone, with cars this old. With good care these cars take mileage in stride. With poor care and hack job owners, even a low mileage cars will be a total piece of crap not worth wasting your time on. Anything around...

Anyone used Speedy Sleeve on worn shaft?

We use sleeves like this at work, to repair gouged shafting. However we turn down the original shaft on a lathe first, and then use heat/cryogenic freezing to install it, so it may not be in the same ball park. Works great though.

t1 and e1 make no difference in timing!

The ECU will not hold the timing with the code 51, so jumpering the T1-E1 has no effect at all, hence why it's not working right. Just buy a new TPS, old ones are nothing but pain in the ass.

    head re-tapping?

Stupid question, but can't you just helicoil a helicoil? I mean go the next size up on the cylinder holes, and then use the smaller original size coil inside of that? There are some thick metal threaded inserts that should work, but I've never used those myself. Something like this...

full tank of gas = pig rich idle?

The charcoal cannister is purging the gas tank fumes. Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Its a very minor amount, that's why you only see it during idle, when there is almost no air coming into the engine.

    Oil return lines.

I think people are missing the question here: I'm guessing we're talking about the oil return from a turbocharger. If so, no way can you splice it into a "filter relocation kit" or your turbo seals will leak like a bitch. The outlet of a turbo has to be free draining with no pressure, and...

    na cam

Correct, apart from that the N/A intake cam has shorter duration than the turbo (and tiny bit less lift). Unless you're after better gas mileage out of your car, I wouldn't bother with it again.

    exhaust leak question?

Apart from cooking everything under the hood in that area to a crisp, not really harmful. Don't be surprised if you burst some coolant hoses back there this way. And oh yeah, watch yourself also, exhaust fumes will kill you.

    Supra running funny

I'm guessing you just have the common leaking valve cover gaskets. Did you check before you removed the spark plugs, if the valley was full of oil? You'd smoke like a biatch if you were actually getting that much oil in the combustion chamber on a regular basis. How to fix the valve cover...

Those people who thought I was wrong about the 1jz and 2jz cranks....

Can you reference where you got the part from Eriol's post? It's like.... Shawn: Look the sky is blue! Siman: I agree, the sky is red!! Huh?
