last i checked, OBD1 doesn't throw a CEL for a clogged fuel filter, nor does broken vacuum lines.
For the engine not to start its one of 2 things... a cam position sensor or crank position sensor. As for sensors that cause CELs, those are the only two that will make your engine not run...
The powersteering pump itself is interchangeable from ANY JZ series engine from any market any year. The things that bolt onto it is what makes it model specific, and all those parts can be purchased at any local toyota dealership...

Used map ecu's off supra forums are cheaper then a used SAFC2. The MAP ecu has a built in 5 bar map. If you have any problems hooking it up, call up Power House Racing, they mastered it on the 1JZ eariler this year.
A MAPECU2 will also control ignition, but theres no need to get the 2...
LOL 1JZ's are getting to be king of the hill around here in FL. Took it only 15 years to be recgonized for it's power potential and extremely long powerband :)

First off, don't bother with that upgraded CT turbo thing. Get a nice 67mm turbo.
Second, stock ECU is fine. Just get a MKIV...
