Well as far a I know, when a system is changed over, all new seals are put in, new fittings and all other required parts. A change over in the AC systems usually cost about $1000. So I am not entirely sure on the compressor. Worst case senario is that you would only have to just refurbish the...
Agreed, burgundy is awesome, just grows on you.
But I dont know about either supra, the black one: something has to be horribly wrong with it for him to be selling it for that cheap especially with all the mods he listed, or he is just full of crap. Granted it might be the case where he just...
Hey everyone
I need to check a VIN number and was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to run a check for me if they have an open carfax account. Send me a pm if you can. I really would appreciate it.
Thanks
When considering performance needs, the hard top is much more desirable then the targa. It is stiffer, lighter and just better all around. If you want to have the targa, get a targa car. If you want the lighter weight and good rigidity of the hardtop keep the hard top. All I know is that there...
the only reason I posted this here is that there are alot of people around here with technical knowledge. I was only simply hoping that someone may have had the same or similar problem with the supra or other cars that they have had. I am trying to help my friend is all, I dont want him to waste...
Hey everyone.
My friend has an 83 saab 900 and he is having problems with the tranny. Apparently when he shifts into second, it will pop out of gear after he releases the gas pedal. (meaning he was already driving in second and had successfully shifted but it pops out when he releases the...
Not to say you are wrong, but my mechanic that is working on my rebuild at the moment says that once I get the car back to change to synthetic after 5000kms or ~3000miles. He is a very reputable mechanic and has worked on several 7Ms before. The reason he gave me is that the rings in the pistons...
here are some pics of my install in the attachment part.
you cant see the lines "teed" but as I said, the arrow points to where I "teed" into the line. Also if you see where the turbo pressure unit is, you can follow the line to where it is most convinent for you. (the line connects under the...
Well I had blown my oil seal in my old turbo. It started with a little smoke now and then, but after a little while I was smoking like a bastard. I mean I could not see ANYTHING behind me, I covered people in smoke. This then told me that my turbo was screwed. Had to get a new one.
But that...
Wow I cant believe I have never heard of this before *cough.....John....cough, cough*. I would love to come down and meets all the fellow supra owners in person. So these estimated times of Aug 18-20th are they still up in the air or set in stone.
Well just a tib bit, the original owners manual suggests a break-in period of 1500 Kms, (which is 932 miles). I am getting my engine rebuilt and my mechanic suggests about the same.
So you guys are in for a bit of a story.
I First got my car about three years ago this june (June 7th 2003 to be exact) after previously owning a broken down, rusted '83 supra (still loved it tho). I had lost the number for the guy that was selling it, but lucky found it in an autotrader...
Check the ic pipes. Stanzaspeed had a hole blown into a pipe and we fixed it by making some new pipes then he got decent gas milage (decent for the supra anyways). anyways that is one possibilty. Also check your O2 sensor to make sure it is ok.
To be honest in my opinion, there is no true advantage to twinning the 7m. If you build your engine correctly and have the turbo for the power you want you will get better results then twinning it. There is alot of custom work involved with it and alot of parts to be bought to do this. If you...
