you can make 400whp on an 57 ct. Its a reliable turbo and decently cheap. you would need to turn the boost up a bit more on it to get there, which will shorten its life more compared to a larger turbo. But it also depends how you drive, which will determine how long it will last. do you mash it...
Testing with a compressor and regulator turned down to 4 psi then work your way up to see when it opens. and want you mean is you want the wastegate to stay closed.
Glad to see this thing is going to be running soon. Ive scoped this thing while driving by and noticed the no front bumper and no engine hence the 4x4 front end :biglaugh:
Glad someone else got a laugh out of this too. Just 3" turbo back exhaust, fipk, fully ported head, stock ct at 10-11 psi. Just about finished a SR motor swap into a s14, then i can get back to installing the rest of the mods on the supra :)
Thats interesting, you live just up the street from me. Ive seen that car sitting there for a while and was somewhat curious on what the deal with it was. Its great to see something is happening with it!
I also say try looking around for a local shop with some sort of reputation. I found one locally who does great spray jobs with proper equipment. If I do the prep work and purchase the paint and clear coat he will spray them both for $250.
^^ thats exactly what I did. 4" alpine type S in the front and 6x9 alpine type S speakers in the rear. It is more then enough sound even with the targa off cruising at 80. Sounds very nice, great treble and a little thump to the setup. Larger speakers do make a bigger sound but arnt as clear as...
