Yes they are interchangeble. To all of those having erratic, bouncing speedos, they are most likely getting ready to take a dump on you. Lube them up now to forstall this. That's the main killer of the speedo cable. They need to be re-lubed after 15 years of so of neglect. :3d_frown:

Man, with that much work put into the NA, your guy should have turbo'd it.

It will stay off if you unplug the sensor from the bottom of the coolant resivoir. You shouldn't rely on that to know when to add coolant anyways ;).

Check out the lower half of the cable, that's the typical part that breaks and you can just replace that part and not the whole thing. It's easy to get to, you just have to crawl under the car and look right at the tranny on the passenger side. If it's the cable, it would be a good idea...
