He needs the proper hose, not a universal hose with a wound wire on the inside of it. That type of hose has a smaller inner diameter than what the stock specs of the supra call for.
Carb cleaner sprayed on the pipes will also let you know when you've found the leak as the idle will jump once the carb cleaner has entered the intake.

Looking at these guy's website I noticed that they make an aftermarket TB in sizes from like 70-90mm's that will accept the stock TPS sensor, pretty nice to have along with the manifold, but they are a pricey...
Re-tighten all of your clamps, it's probably something simple like you just forgeting to tighten one of them when putting it all back on. That, and make sure your couplers are fully on and that the clamps are clamping down the coupler to the pipe itself.
