Oh yeah, the motor I have is stock bore, it will have to be bored to .020 over to fit the JE's. I'm not going to be using the same block again because It needs to be bored over more and I would have to buy .040 over pistons for it. I just want to make sure that the pistons are going to be ok...
I'm going to have them checked out today. I just want to get my car back on the road.
The MBC works fine, but having the internal wastegate the EBC will not creep as much.
I have a motor that has been in my car for about 4 years now. 5 of the 6 JE pistons look fine, the other had some thing (spark plug I think) drop in there, the piston still had 150 compression, just made a scratch in the cylinder wall. I've got another piston in great shape the same size as...
I don't have a 2 step, waiting on the emanage ultimate to work it self out for the mk3, But I rev up to 4500 then let the clutch out fairly quick, not dropping it but more like a red light pull, but this is with my MT dr's.
Poodles, when do you want to go out to the track? My car will be...
I have a JT 58 turbo and it is great! I get full spool 20psi by 4000rpms and 10psi by 3300rpms. The turbo hits like a hammer and just keeps pulling. My goal with it is to run 25psi and some race gas and run it at the track and see how low in the 11's I can go.
I had a ct26 60-1 upgraded...
Yup the Clutch that Wardog posted is the one I had. It was a great clutch for the street, just didn't like the strip. I went back to a stock flywheel as soon as I could. It was just hard to find a good one.
I had a Feramic clutch and welded it 3 Times to my Fidanza flywheel I had! I'll never go to another feramic clutch again. I know that with the Stock Flywheel it would have been a little better but I'm not going to risk it. Now I did have the setup same as DL has posted at the 400rwhp level...
Like MRSupra said, he has had lots of good luck with the HPF bronze.
I have the a South Bend Clutch and love it. It's a stock pressure plate with an 8puck ceramic disc. Should run you about $450 or so, give them a call.
I love it, and you will be just fine with it at the track. One...
Your 60 ft is great for a first timer. The first time at the track with the supra for me I ran a 14.1@96mph with a 2.0, this was with 8 psi and stock IC with a 3" exhaust. The stock IC will be fine for what you are doing. Get a MBC and turn the boost up to 10-11 psi and run next time with an...
I would get your motor rebuilt. Have it checked out by a machine shop and get it done with some forged pistons. The MK4 W58 is the same tranny with different bell housing, get a R154!! I would also get some sort of tuning computer too.
No, if you want an even lower drop go with the aftermarket springs. But for weight transfer stick with the stock springs. Just lower the perch on the Bilsteins to where you want it. I love the ride so far, haven't got to launch it very much with the car running right, putting in another new...
Still having problems with this? I've been in Addison training all week. I'll be up there next week or if you want to meet over here and let me look at it I'll help you out. Your clutch isn't disengaging. It's either your Pressure Plate, that is known to Kill R154's, ask how I know, or you...
The ones that are in my pics are the ones that came with the wheels that I bought from a friend with a mustang. They are the wrong lugs, they were just put on to make sure the wheel fit. My new Lugs or Shanks I got are closed end for my rears as the stud doesn't go all the way through the wheel.
I have the weld prostars as well, the lugs you can get at autozone for $1.99 each, I believe they are 12x1.25 I'll go look again though. If you go there and tell them you need some shank lugs and what vehicle you have they will have it!
I have the Bilstien shocks with stock springs. This gave me the drop that I was looking for and a great launch suspension for drag. I wanted a little stiffer suspension and a little drop so this was the route I went.
Zazzn,
I'm still using stock flywheel bolts, and I have been through several motors, clutches and trannys. I just use Red permatex and torque down to 60 ftlbs and never have a problem. I think that it's the 35 ftlbs and all your HP that is making this happen and the bolts backing out. Just...
