Here's a link to Supraforums where I posted some pretty clear shots and description of what I did.

I made the box, its sealed and has a vent hose coming out the bottom of the trunk...
I'll double check my wire size at lunch. Its a super flexible XSpower cable, about twice as flexible as welding cable, so a smaller size can handle a wee bit more amps.
I'll find a picture of my setup for ya. And the two smaller wires are for the alternator.. You run from the dash back to...
That's the same switch I have. Works good. Just be sure to run two wires when doing the main cable for the alternator. I like to use 14g speaker wire for that job.
2ga seems a little light but I tend to overkill.
If you plan to ever run the drag strip, I think the sealed battery box...
I just figured a 2x2 sheet of material, and getting 7 coil holders from that sheet. With material and plasma time, and since I do this in the garage in my spare time Im seeing cost out the door at like 19.00 each from 1/8 material. Since its a hobby!, I can do singles or batches. Not...
I dont want to start a p*****g match with a seasoned member. But to give some data, I live in the PNW where its like average 40* this time of year and with just a remote mounted filter, no thermostat block, my oil temps would stabalize around 190/195 while crusing and climb to 215* or so...
Ive got that file, even modified it a bit on the perimeter to fit the tranny shape better. I can send the original and mine. Either way, I recomend dial indicating the bellhousing in once bolted to the engine, mine was out .020.
Whats high? I cruise at 190 to 200* oil temps and a grade in 6th ill see upto 210* Rule of thumb is within 10* of water temp. I talked with BraddPenn when I was running there oil and they responded with up to 240* is stable for there 10/30. Anything over 260* was to high and I should...
didnt mean to over complicate it, just educate yourself the most you can about the mods you want to make. A thermostat that wont open till 180* would be perfect. I was just commenting on the OP's area and season temps, that the watercooled unit might be better, and just how long it takes...
I see it happen alot. People want to upgrade the oil cooler but dont have all the data, like oil temps, to figure out just what is needed, or not needed.
Check out the data on the oil you run. Look at the viscocity flow number at 0c and 100c. My reading has said over and over again your...
i never messed with my 7m covers, but moded my 2j covers alot. I prestressed the cover by back bending it bolting to the head with about 3 washers under the middle bolts. Came out darn near flat and dont have any leaks.
Depending on use. My application, DD. 40* morning drive to work air temps (for reference, its been 25 to 30*). Old system, was remote mount filter only. 10 mile drive I would see 160* oil temps. Same drive with 2jz water cooler installed Im seeing over 190*. I leave when water...
I wonder if you could install the water cooled unit from the 2j? Being on the same parrelel as I am almost, its cold most of the time and if you drive it daily, it will actually help get your oil to temperature faster and maintain it. If your not tracking the car it could be an elegantsolution.n
Update on this. I was still getting some breakup in higher boost, ended up putting new springs in the coils, the spark springs between the coil and plug. My stutter is gone and on a repull tonight can hit my 25psi I dynoed at. Maybe keep a spare setup in the tool box. There cheap at 3.00...
