So after running some NGK copper 7's (4644) for some time, this set lasted about 1000 miles before they started stuttering under boost. I just put some Iridium 8's in, not only does it start, idle and drive better, it feels much better I to boost too.
So just a suggestion when your shopping...
As of current, MS cannot do varied dwell time based on load or rpm. I have asked for that feature, but have not heard anything (but as said, it has voltage compensation). Im running 3.7ms and just took out another set of plugs in 1000 miles. Ive been running a .030 gap, and talking to my MS...
Agreed. How would the switch get made? Would the standalone control fuel and ignition, or just one? The stock ecu does a great job yes and should meet your current goals with just the afc. Then as suggested, go standalone. Because you can tune cruise afr targets and work with...
Looks like its the same setup.
The MS3-Pro is our top of the line engine management system. It packs up to 12 fuel channels and 8 ignition channels into a single ruggedized enclosure. This one can run 4 channels of continously variable valve timing, progressive nitrous control, and more! We've...
Ive got about7 feet of the DIY type 2 wire/shelided cam wire. And not sure how close the Pro and MS3x knock stuff is related, but Matt had said that the knock input is buffered quite a bit and a sheiled input isn't needed. Mine has the same guage as the rest of the harness you have, that 18...
Looks like I didn't take any pics of the iac setup. Its simple tho, and uses the pwm motor from a ford mustang or ranger. Some are long cylinders, and others are a squarish block. Im running the block one. I can send my MS settings to get you going faster.
It takes 12v and one pwm wire from ms. The idle valve is not very big and the adapter you can mount anywhere. I make up a plate that still uses the stock iac location as its feed, and mine uses a dash 8 hose for plumbing it. Since your using the stock idle check valve rubber flap deal...
I would totally suggest an IAC. Im just down the freeway from you in Aberdeen. You have a powerful ecu, I would use it to its full advantage. MS3 has idle correction, idle air correction in closed loop and when its working together it just like stock ecu. You can use an initial value...
Yes, they even look legit gm coils. You can tell by the epoxy on the top, its uniform. You'll need plugs tho. I bought mine and they came with the plug. You can run plug wires, or hit uauto zone for the cp059 boot and run cop.

make sure you get legit gm coils, its been rumored the china ones can break down and trigger early, causing advanced timing. I'd even buy two of them from you.
The LQ9's offer a hotter spark. Theres a YouTube video testing all 3. I'm at 800whp with a .030 Gap with zero breakup. That's at 25psi, and I have tuned to 30psi.
I forget the LS2 coils come that way too. Seeing that style reminds me of the 2 wire ls1 setup. Yep, them will work. I like the LQ9, its a bit more powerful and can be mounted pretty easy in the JZ head Under the coil cover.
If your going to run an igniter. If you want direct fire, the LQ9 coil is what you want with and OMNI Spark CP059 boot/spring setup.

Its the coils with silver heatsink on top.
