Oil and Oil filter. What do you use?

Im running JoeGibss LS30 synthetic (5w/30) with Wix filter. Besides fatory Toytota, I will only run Wix at this point. I had been using Baldwin, but the last can was so thin only 2 rotations of the cutter had it apart, and the only Purolator Gold I ran had the sealant not affix itself to the...

    Adaptor plate for a t-56

I have it I can send to you. I modified mine to work with an external slave so I could use the stock style pull pressure plate. I had the gm slave fail on me while the volvo motor was in there and it sucked pulling the tranny just to fix it. But your right about cost, I had a fully rebuilt...

    Adaptor plate for a t-56

I have one adapted to my 2jz. Im sure it just comes down to adapter thickness. Its designed to use the auto 2j bellhousing. I bought the cad file from like v-8.com. The drawing needed some Love, but its working great. Not sure on the shifter loaction in a MK3, but gm offers the...

    Dyno checkp. 770/638 @ 25psi

We went out messin around the other night, for some reason nobody wanted to mess with me, so on the way home I was able to roll up on our group in third gear while datalogging. I didn't stab the gas, but rolled into it fast. Results, 0psi to 23psi (750ish whp) in 1.3 seconds, 52.8mph to...

    Dyno checkp. 770/638 @ 25psi

Im not sure I would call it a downgrade. Its a fantastic turbo with lots of great results. On a mildy prepped 2j from FSR they dynoed just over 900whp. Theres a couple graphs on the net with comparible results between the 6266/6466/6766. The 64 spooled like the 62, but hung on power...

    Dyno checkp. 770/638 @ 25psi

Thanks. I have done some datalogging, and at 23psu there is 32psi pre intercooler. So a 4 inch ETS core is on the way. My new gears are here and Im going to try a 4 port boost valve instead of the 3 port so I dont have to change my spring. Ive been doing some boost congrol testing for...

    Battery relocation help!

Double check, but I think its the L wire. Which ever one is connected to the dash light. And like JDMFreak said, your only switching the alternator on power, so only a few amps is needed. On my install, I found the wire from the dash that would have gone to the alternator, cut the...

Shimming the bypass spring on the oil pump

It might be engine oil, but already said in the thread, theres members putting 20w/50 just to see more oil pressure, but the very thing there trying to fix, is actually causing more problems. Information is key and reading is the best thing we can do. Oils have come along ways. I switched...

Shimming the bypass spring on the oil pump

Ill poke my nose in here. Ive read alot on BITOG alot. The consesus is the perfect oil is one with a viscocity of 10 at operating temp, and the mutligrade oils help this out. Most oils are graded at 40C and 100C. My LS30 (5W/30) is like 58 viscity at 40c and 9.8 at 100C. My oil temps are...

    Solid pinion spacer question

OK. Supra 3rd members must be a little different. I have only setup Toyota truck carriers, chevy carriers and ford carriers, and each time Randys Ring and Pinion stressed rolling tq on the bearing. Sorry if I confused anyone.

    Solid pinion spacer question

So the OP doesnt get confused, if he is recording breakaway tq and rolling tq, what is he aiming for when he is dialing in the spacers for the tq value given? Is the tq spec breakaway, or rolling? Ive only ever recorded rolling tq, and used the speced tq value to that.

    Solid pinion spacer question

as suggested, inch pound wrench is the only really way. One with a dial on it is best since you meausre moving tq, not the break away tq to get it spinning.
