Yikes, when I scrolled down to a picture of that wirebrush you used, I cringed.

I figured it out by thinking of the trick people use to loosen the crank bolt, If the starter can be used to loosen it, then you can easily figure out the direction the crank turns :D

That is for your ISC, Idle Speed Controller I'd recommend sending tubbie a message, he should have the connector you need with a pigtail, you can cut your old one off and replace it with the 'new' one
