When I pulled it, it didnt really seem like a film though, I dont know how much should be in the IC but as soon as I pulled the pipe, the oil dripped a few times.
When I was changing out my bypass valve a while back I noticed a little oil in there too. not alot at all but there was still some...
I just did an oil and filter change this morning, hit my intake with a little carb cleaner and a new air filter, changed my tranny fluid last night, tightened up my bypass valve because of a boost leak, pulled off my lower intercooler hose and oil over the walls of the intercooler!
Im pretty sure with all the great feedback on this site, it will make a difference However, I did not use redline this time because I have been searching all day for it and decided to go with the basic because of my lack of patience.
Sorry to bring up such an old thread but this really pissed me off.
I went in today to buy some gear oil. I asked the guy how much my transmission needs and he tells me " this is for gears not for a transmission" I told him it was for my r-154 stick shift tranny that takes 75w-90 gl4 or...
I dont know much about rebuilding and upgrading turbos but that doesnt seem true at all, but I believe if there is to much shaft play it cannot be rebuilt. Call up driftmotion, they can rebuild and upgrade for a really good price!
just ran it around the block. It shifts alot smoother, feels alot smoother, no sounds at at all, I had the rubber piece that reduces noise and couldnt here any irregular sound except for the nasty sound of my open elbow (saving up for exhaust)
My car was still shifting fine, I only drove 3 block as soon as I heard the whining noise, I dont know how much damage I couldve caused but even when the tow truck driver asked me if I can back it up a little, I did and there was no problem shifting or grinding or any noises, I then parked it...
No its actually not leaking, I unbolted the drain plug and thats when it spilled on me. I have honestly been looking all over san diego for redline mt90 and cant find it. I was going to go with some basic 75-90 until I can find the good stuff. Thanks alot for the info though
Thanks alot for...
I searched with little luck. this is a very noob question so sorry in advance!
Ok scenario: just finished my auto to manual swap perfectly without any complictaions besides locating parts.
I was unsure of how much fluid was in there so I opened up the drain and some poured on me so I...
I had a similar problem when my maf (non turbo) came loose and too much extra air was going through the intake
Also had the same problem when I first bought my 90, my afm (turbo) connector had a piece of a leaf in it, it gave me a code 31 and 26, I cleaned it out with compressed air, it cleared...
Wow I shoulda known that.. I cant remember ever taking of an sae bolt:nono:.
I work graveyard from 3 till 7 and ive been up ever since so Its hard to think clear
ok I just went and bought 6 bolts from my local hardware store. they measured the bolts and told me they are 5/16, grade 8, and 1 1/2. I bought 6 and they dont fit. they screw in a tiny bit but it gets too hard, I dont wanna force em in though
I know, I definitely would but time is a big issue. I will more then likely pull my tranny back out next month so I can upgrade the clutch and flywheel anyway
