The bearings are the reason. Mine have zero play so I really don't want to tear them down just to coat. If I paint them with something decent now it should last till the bearings go and I can shoot them at that time.

I would think these lips might be a good candidate for the hybrid frp, I for one plan on finishing it in black like the factory. A textured look would be similar to stock as well.

Agreed, and I wonder if they would be willing to do other colors, a shade lighter than black to match shadow grey would be popular I think. Something about straight black in the mkiii is too much IMO. The dash has me the most interested if it fits well and has a factory appearance.
