With you power goals I'd go with a composite gasket such as Felpro and ARP Bolts. Stock 140k gasket will more then likely give you problems down the road with elevated boost pressures.
Specifically for the Boss Sr. turbos....
Compressor Wheel-
What is the difference between the 60-1 and the GT61 wheel? I know the GT61 is rated 15hp more.
Turbine Housing-
What are the differences between the Stage 4 Vs. Stage 5?
Is the actual turbine housing a different size or are...
Thanks for the reply.
hmmm, well I have a bic dp so theres no stud there like in your elbow.
For the stud on the turbo, is that for the support bar?
Could use that stud to secure both I guess.
Also, what stage/trim did you get?
I'm leaning towards the stage 4 or 5 GTS GT61.
Thanks for the input guys.
So is Champion Toyota any cheaper then the local Toyota delerships? Might as well just pick them up and save on the shipping fees.
Does anyone know of a good place to order gaskets from online?
I need a few misc. gaskets for the 7MGTE and I'm hoping toyota dealership is my last resort.
I don't need the full engine gasket kit for 200-300 bills...just 4 or 5 gaskets such as the throttle body, ISV valve body, EGR, water...
What is the name of the gasket on the upper intake manifold that is on the firewall side? It is an oval shape with two mounting screws.
I have attached a picture with an arrow pointing to what I'm referring to.
Thank you
Hey mechanics need to make a living too...right?
All of the shops I checked out were charging the suspension install labor per corner, not hourly. $200 - $250 a corner. What a rip.
Sounds about right from what I've experienced.
200 bucks each corner for aftermarket strut/spring combo
300 bucks each corner for coilovers
F**** that....I installed the coilovers myself in a few hours.
It's not bad at all. It was my first time and sure I hit some stop signs along...
Whats up everyone?
I have the DIY intercooler hardpipes from DM (aluminum) for some time now and I feel like changing up the piping layout.
Doing the route I want will call for some welding to avoid having 4 or 5 couplers between the TB and fender.
I've never had anything welded...
Remember, H&R's paired with bilsteins on the lowest perch will be plenty low for street use. After you do this I'll bet your gunna want to lower the rear some more.
If your only looking for drop the front end further your best option in my opinion would be Bilstein Struts as they are height adjustable matched with H&R lowering springs.
The comment you made about coilovers not being able to go low enough in the front is false.
Dropped all the way on...
Sounds tempting but for that price you know quality and longevity will suffer. Probably made in China with inferior parts. I feel ebay turbos are the wrong way to go, but by all means, someone prove me wrong.
What shade % are you thinking of going with?
I got limo (5%) all around done professionally and it still looks as if it was done yesterday. Definetely take it to a shop that specializes in window tinting.
Oh and the rear defogger won't make any difference and is of no concern.
Found it...Post #5, Heres the link

Sorry, kinda calling you out jtamulis. Did you ever get around to the dyno testing?
I'll search for the thread when I get some free time. I believe it was dated back in 06/07.
I dont think the lightening was dynoed at the various boost levels so its pretty much a useless thread but I will try to look for it regardless.
