I also bought one from them, when it came in I checked the valve shim clearences and everything was within spec (although some were near the high end). But while doing this I noticed that the CPS gear on the exhaust cam had some chipped teeth (if I had run it this way it would have wreaked havoc...
Love the white on white, nice and clean!
Good luck with the rest of your build. Don't forget to have the oil squirter springs replaced ~$35 from Champion Toyota (it will help with the 7m oil pressure issues). I'm not sure exactly what your machinest is doing, but the $500 estimate seems a...
Keith,
I want to thank you for having the insight and imagination to be the brainchild behind such a fun event. I know that you and your small crew have bent over backwards time and time again to put this event together. I have been in the supra scene for awhile, and it is very rare to find...
Tyler,
Good luck with your build!
Remember it's not about how much money you put into your car it's how much enjoyment you get out of it! Some of the coolest cars I've ever owned have been the cheapest built, of course they weren't the safest, prettiest or longest lasting, but man they were...
I got busted doing 130 in a 55 (4am with absolutely nobody else on the road). $500 would have been cheap compared to the ticket and subsequent increase in my insurance.
26 years.
Jdub, love the Heavy Chevy's! I had a '67 327 Malibu. But my first car was 1975 Chevy Monza that I dropped in a built LT-1 350(in 1981) it would lift the front left tire 6" off the ground when I got traction.
No worries Rico, I know you weren't bashing on me. I just like to pull the 300hp AWD card out--every time I say I drive a 6 speed 300hp AWD car people assume I'm talking about an EVO/STI, when I tell them it's a Volvo I get no respect especially when I tell them it's a wagon. Some people (who...
Jake,
I'm sorry I don't have my EMS pin-out diagram on this computer, but if you go to http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php and search there all of your questions should be answered, and be able to download your start-up base map.
I ran an Innovative WB, but it was a pain to set up to...
I've use both the Ross and the Wiseco pistons, I liked the Ross and perfered their "spiro lock" pin retainers better than the Wiseco wire ring (eaiser on the thumbs to install). I also like the Ross pin better, it seemed much lighter compared to the Wiseco pin, just an FYI. I did end up melting...
I've got a fan shroud that I bought new in '99 after my fan decided it didn't need a couple of its blades anymore. I'd let it go for $30. It is from an '89+ and is in pretty good shape, one of the mounting tabs is cracked, but it still works perfect.
Let me know,
Matt
Nice work on the dash, looks like you lost 100k on the odo. You may also want to change out the stock elbow and get rid of the ebay/HKS DP both are big restrictions.
Good luck with the build,
Matt
These guys seem to know their stuff, I've only bought bolt-on stuff from them so I don't know about their quality, or if they have a warrenty ontheir engines (you have to send your core to them).

Why not kick down an extra $320 and buy some Wiseco pistons? NEVER have to worry about them at that HP level, and if you decide you need more power later, you have plenty of room. Piece of mind is priceless when building these engines.
