how would the clearance recomendations change if we are getting these fully coated? ceramic top, moly skirts, and thermal dispersant bottom.
someone, i think ian, was saying the clearances should be up to a thou tighter with coated pistons but these already have a very tight clearance and i...
I use cantons 3qt unit. and I'm pretty sure IJ uses one also. maybe check his build thread.
as far as I'm concerned, they are definately worth it. they can pre-lube the engine before startup. if nothing else, your starter motor will thank you. :)
i wouldnt call it ideal, but it can work. an exhaust slashcut like this will pull very little vacuum at idle (up to 0.4 in/Hg) and under load will oscillate unpredictably between 1 - 2 in/Hg with some periods of positive pressure. thats why there are those big check valves in that system, and is...
yes. but all the diagrams so far are some form of the stock setup. the only differences are the location of the catch can.

yes, and if you needed to choose between putting a can between the pre-turbo intake/cam cover or between the manifold/cam covers, then the former is the...
the way marc posted is the best compromise and is the way it is plumbed up stock, only difference being the addition of the catch can.
the idea of the pcv system is to have a vacuum on the crankcase to remove blowby gasses and to a smaller extent, lessen windage. without the vacuum, any...
pressure is measured on the outside surface of the hood/car. nose of car is high pressure. most of hood is low pressure. base of windshield is high pressure. airflow goes from relative high pressure (inside engine compartment) through the vent to low pressure (outside hood).
its not...
ive worked real world numbers on the weight difference between 17s and 18s. if you keep width and rolling diameter the same then you will save 2.5 - 3.5 lbs per wheel by using 17s.
thats fairly substantial concidering that this is both unsprug AND rotating weight.
the parking lot posted is on the south-east corner of the lake. right next to the baseball fields and the pitch n putt. a block north of N 50th st on greenlake wy N. the lot actually stretches between N 50th and about N 55th st.
well, i'll probably wander into the show'n'shine as long as i can get some time off work. my cars not running now, but i live almost close enough that i could push it there.:biglaugh:
so i think its time to bring this back from the dead.
did slow66 ever contact canton? or the original poster? it seems like there was a lot of interest but then the thread just died.
im usually pretty good with puzzles like this but for the life of me, i just cant figure this one out. my creative side must be lacking.
