GTO pan is completely different then the F-body pan.
I am still disappointed all those build posts disappeared. There was a lot of good information there.
I am kind of surprised that the F-body oil pan hung down as much as it did on your car IJ. The LS2 corvette pan has a 1" shorter sump so I am hoping it won't hang below the crossmember. The proof is in the pudding, thanks for the pics and info.
IJ. - Did you use the f-body accessories on your...
It is a truck engine and is rear sump. Like I said above I am going to try the LS2 corvette pan.
Here is a great reference for oil pans

@IJ What are you referring to when you say "2004 F body pan"? The F-body was...
I just bought an L33 today so I should be able to start tearing apart my car in the next few weeks and get the R154 mounted to the engine. I am still missing the clutch disc and I need to figure out an oil pan but I pretty much have everything else.
When I worked in a steel mill I would routinely put in 80+ hour weeks and would usually work 21 days at 12 hours per day in a row before getting a day off. During a four day downturn I put in 16 hours per day for 4 days which ended up being 100hrs for the week. That job was brutal and the 16...
Smiley has always had an impressive car. I remember talking with back in like 05 or 06 about his set up. One of the coolest guys I got the chance to talk to.
It occurs to my friend's car on dead cold start ups and plus he has a sumped tank with an A1000 fuel pump. The problem I have seen has not been a heat soak problem.
I am curious to see if anyone has a solution to this. My friend's 1jz does this and I have never had an electrical issue stump me this badly. Turn the ignition key and nothing. Turn it back and forth a few times and it will start. New battery, 3 new starters, checked all the connections on...
Parts alone for a complete swap are going to run you anywhere from $1200-$1700. Labor for a shop would be the time it takes to change a transmission at least plus there is some wiring to get an auto harness to work with a 5-speed. I would put shop time at 12 hours at anywhere from $50-$100 per...
I believe that I understand efi quite well and I am unsure what you are getting at. How can you measure the afm without a scope since it uses a frequency signal?
OP: all the ohm's tell you is whether or not the temp sensor in the AFM is working properly otherwise you would need a scope to...
Get an 8.1L. The L18 from full size silverado/Sierra from 2001-2007. You could probably get one for the same price as an 6.0L. The guy on lt1swap.com I know used one in his truck.
ITB's don't necessitate change in power band on their own. They increase throttle response. Look at an E36 BMW that has ITB's and so does the RB26. It is the plenum size that determines your power band and if you simply put intake horns on the ITB's then yes you are going to be lacking flow...
