The LS series of engines is physically smaller then the UZ so fitting the engine into the bay is not a problem. It is amazing that GM fits from 4.8L to 7.0L all in the same size package.

I just got my L33 hooked to the trans and set in the engine bay this weekend. Hopefully I can get some engine mounts fabbed by next weekend and start buttoning up the details. I can't believe how much room there is in the engine bay.

1uz is about as bolt in as the LSx motors. The Mk4 chassis is another story. It drops right in that one.

M1 has nothing to do with starting the car. The key wires for starting and running are the middle wires on b1. M1 only has signal wires for the dash. The ewd shows all of this.

If you are talking about the brake ducts in the front lip it was only the 1jz-gte turbo r that had them.

The engine harness for the 86.5-88 is different from the 89 which is different from the 90 which is different from the 90-92. The chassis plugs under the dash are different for all those years and there was a change in the main power plug in the engine bay from 90 to 91 IIRC. The ecu plugs are...

I am aware. All those bolt ons add up when purchased from a thrid party. Motor might be $400 from a junkyard but you are going to spend another $3k to drop it in and have 250fwhp at best. There is no aftermarket for the 1uz and parts are outrageous so getting anymore power out of it is going...

I really don't get this. The 1uz is by far the worst choice of all the V8s out there. It doesn't bolt up to any manual trans and you still need to build mounts and fab up an exhaust. Basically the same steps for any V8 around. The expense to turbocharge any V8 is high. People spout off all...

Look at the LSA headers. They don't look much bigger then the hooker cast and they flow enough for 600hp or even the LS7 manifolds.

Well the engine I am putting in is the L33 and I have already installed an almost new 02+ LS6 cam and springs and the heads are 799s which came on the C5 Z06. All I need is the lighter valves and I should be able to spin it to 7000rpms without a problem. I need to get this sucker running.

I have done the 1uz and was unimpressed at the results. For all the work an LS motor will do more for as much or less and is a smaller package with more cubes.

Not yet. Hopefully I will get the engine and tranny put in by the end of the month.
