Any issues that you ran into? I am looking at doing this and have wondered if I would need any special tools. Also did you find you needed to buy any different sized snap rings? I priced out the parts from DM and it comes to around $500.

I haven't really made too many attempts to meet up with people. I did help a guy in Burlington install a Megasquirt on his 87 but other then that I have stayed on the DL in the QC. Hopefully this summer I can get the car out and meet some more people.

On the radio I would check the connection. It sounds like someone had an aftermarket in there and miswired the acc and battery wires. Pull it out and make sure no one has messed with the wiring before going much further.

I was thinking that this story better end with shimless buckets or I am going to be very sad. So were any of the cam lobes damaged at all from this happening?
