Looking good. Can't wait to see it done with the smilie bumpers. I love updates with nice pics.
BTW, how much power were you putting to the wheels when you ran your best 1/4mile time? I've always wanted to swap my 7m into a classic Toyota myself.
I would do the 12v mod, then adjust the fuel pressure to see around 3.5v Vf in cruise mode while still trying to maintain 14.7 afr's. Then when you go WOT see what your afr's look like then.
When you go 12v full time you won't get that boost in fuel pressure going from 9v to 12v, so hopefully...
You can always wait. The street is always going to be there. You just have to wait until your next day off. Unless you flew someone in to tune the car for you, then I understand the rush. For street tuning I hopped online and bought the cheapest organic pads I could find, and a decent set of...
Welcome to the forums. There's a couple of us here in San Antonio. We do have a thread going http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?103349-San-antonio .
This is what I was thinking. When you pull the head off, and Viton lifts clean it all up then give it a couple of coats of copper spray. Reinstall it. MLS gaskets can be reused. You have one that has never been ran. I don't see a problem reinstalling it. That's just my cheap ass though.
Oh...
Without the engine ever going through a heat cycle wouldn't the coating still be intact? Or does the pressure of it torqued down make it stick to the mating surfaces?
Have you tried pricing everything you need from Elmhurst Toyota?

When I put mine together I went through them.
Rockauto.com has a lot of what you need pretty cheap as well.
Plot the same points on a T61 and you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's been known to be a good match for the 7mgte. Unfortunately, does not bolt onto the stock manifold. It's a T4 turbo. It's old technology too, as many here would point out. Still a good match.
I did the 12v mod today. Success. I'm getting 13.5v to the pump while the car is idling. Now my tune is out of whack and needs a retune. I'll be busy doing that when time permits.
Try this guy. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?100-Elmhurst-Toyota-Scion
Supraforum members get a pretty good discount. You have to pay for shipping. I've ordered plenty of stuff from them when I was getting my car back on the road. Saved a lot of money.
