Why not tap them to m10 x 1.25? Assuming you work at some kind of car repair shop I'm sure you'd have that tap and those sized bolts or studs lying around everywhere.

You'll be surprised how many people brake early their first times out at a dragstrip. I was one of them. I didn't know any better and kept braking right after the 1000ft mark for some reason. My friend did the same thing, and many other newbies I see out their first time.
