looking good over there! shame to hear about the valve clearance issue.
I reckon your best bet is to machine the valve reliefs like you said if you wanna stick with the 1.2mm.
Cost wise? Getting it welded then decked was around the $130au mark for me. That is of course giving the head to them already disassembled.
Im still in the process of getting the engine back together.
Btw IJ you mentioned about using an analogue meter, would a digital do as well?
Wow that's very interesting IJ. Probably gonna go do that now haha!
My head had pretty bad pitting around the water ports too... since the plans for car was to just daily drive it and replace it with another built 7m once the current motor on it dies after Road worthy and rego is done since...
0oo wow jarvis is really getting out there pretty good. Are those front fenders widened?
out of curiosity how much did it cost to make those. I may consider getting fenders from him instead since shine doesn't answer to my emails unfortunately.
what's up with shineauto lately? been trying to contact them via-email about the fenders. Three emails each being about 1-2 weeks apart and still not response from them. :(
Ehh where did you get your hands on genuine clevites!!!
anyway I believe IJ mentioned about running in the looser end clearances are fine for a power build as toyota's specs are pretty tight clearances.
What the hell... totally did not notice that throughout the build threads I've come across. Learning something new every day :3.
Out of curiosity guys are those gears still available. Checked with toyota in my local area but no chance :(
Yeah those cars back in the day had their tanks mounted in the boot hence as to why they changed over to that at 2013. Just haven't seen it done to an a70 yet and loved how you done it to yours.
love the fuel tank placement for better center of gravity! and best safety feature to prevent this from happening.

+1 on it too!! in time though when you tested it out as i'm presently rebuilding any 7ms nor am in the budget to either XD.
Probably might do an electirc/belt air pump Vac for the PCV if I ever ended up in this route :3
like what this guy did on this thread...
Sweet mother F8$%^@# Jesus that's soo cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow..... i'm astonished.
Why does Australia have to be expensive these days.... :3d_frown:
