one simple trick (if your car idles and drives like shit )to see if the AFM is bad is to start the car up and let it idle. while its at shit-idle unplug the AFM. if it all of a sudden idles great then thats your problem.
lame. great working hood struts here. due to be replaced though, in the winter the hood will fall down eventually. in the summer though they are great.
psssh. screw that. im putting the AC in this time around as long as everything is a ok. you better believe itll be cranked up on high for the rest of the summer.
besides, at highway speeds the AC shouldnt have that much of an effect on your gas mileage anyway. at idle on the other hand, yeah...
its not hard to get at. youll need and impact gun to get the crank pulley bolt loose. or you can use a breaker bar wedged against the car. pull the efi fuse and click over the start real quick. thatll break it free.
rightttt. maybe you should keep any animocity you have towards me out of public threads and take it to PMs or something. all youre doing is shitting up a public thread.
so what are you trying to say? that the 1jz is un breakable? over heat ANY aluminum head motor and itll blow a head gasket. detonate on ANY motor and you can say good bye to whatever motor it happens to be aswell.
thats entirely up to you dude. both have been shown to make plenty of power.
many people will tellyou that the 7m sucks, or the 1jz sucks.
build EITHer of them right and you will have a great motor. but of course the 1jz nuthangers are going to come in again and turn this into an...
yes. can you do that with the KV airflow meter that the mkiii comes with stock?
maybe...
before seeing it done in person, i would have said no way. however ive seen it done on more than one car now both online and in person.
ive seen it on one 7m in a mkiii and ive seen it...
because by the time youve put another 20k on top of the 30k or 40k or however many miles are on the motor, how strong is it going to be?
for me, personally, as in MY OPINION... id rather start fresh, thats all. my logic is in no way flawed in that respect.
no matter WHAt motor i...
ahhh now i see whats really going on here. if you think the 7M sucks then just come out and say it, instead of critisizing me for suggesting that the 1jz is not perfect.
keep in mind my previous statements, that its nice to have so many options.
its not an argument, it is my OPINION. unless i know that the motor was rebuilt previously or has X amount of miles, i STILL say you should do it right the first time, instead of maybe having to pull it again later on down the road.
whats the problem with this line of thinking?
ignorant? how so? i was voicing my opinion that its a waste of time dropping in a non rebuilt motor in your car.
i saw this because it is what i have done. when i first swapped from the GE to GTE motor it was a used motor that i did not know the history of. half a year later i pulled it out...
geeez. miscommunication is running rampant today. i was trying to make a point. did you get it? running oil into the cabin isnt a good idea. spend the extra money and get an electrical gauge.
