Figured you would think so :) My weekend is open (other than ripping down some wallpaper) if you wanna tackle that leaky water pipe or need someone to do WOT runs while you tune:evil2:
BTW-need some 7M parts?? lol
Decided to go ahead and part out all my 7M stuff, added it up and I should be able to get what I need for the rest of the 2j swap parts:). Also saves me the trouble of swapping engines twice.
If anybody needs anything 7M related let me know, I'll be putting a for sale thread up tonight after...
Pulled the oil pump on my spare 7M and I'm not liking what I saw under the #3 and #4 rod caps. More info here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50385&highlight=rod+bearings
I'm thinking 2jz FTW!! I think I can almost get enough for the rest of my swap parts if I sell off my...
Bumping my waaay old post, I ended up buying a 2jzge to swap in but decided I'd drop my extra 7m shortblock in while I save for the rest of the swap parts. I pulled the oil pump tonight and the #3 and #4 rod caps. More of the same markings as the other rod bearings, but I noticed on these...
Couple of boxes showed up today, '98 MKIV motor mounts and head alignment pins from Champion along with a 50mm knockoff HKS WG from my friends at CXRacing (didn't realize how freakin big this thing would be):
Noticed a gap around the plunger, is this normal?:
Hoping to finish assembly this...
Nice! Definitely make sure you hit up the Yota truck forums and Supracharged.com, I'm sure there will be alot of people interested in mounts. Out of curiosity, is the 1jz as long as the 2jz? I remember seeing that some firewall/core support mods were necessary to get a 2jz in a truck.
Yea, fuel pumps don't like running at 100% all the time, same with injectors, don't want 100% duty cycle because you have no overhead if you need a little more fuel for some reason.
Went to the dyno at lunch today in the Escort, first pull is at 9psi and the second is at 13psi:

Pretty happy with the results, not too bad for a tiny turbo and a bunch of junkyard parts :D
If anyone in the Austin area needs dyno time, I highly...
I think a surge tank will work well. I saw your E85 post and it was definitely some nice work, but I'm not trying to turn this into a high dollar project. I started with an Escort afterall lol. I've got a wideband and a good ear for deto (Escort) so I'll push it till I run out of fuel and go...
Just ordered some block pins, mkiv mounts (98tt, right? lol), and a coolant pipe plug from Jeff W. They were about $100 cheaper on everything than the local dealer. Champion Toyota FTW!
Should be able to put my motor together once the pins are here, got a $35 used titan mhg and a can of...
Thanks to the help of Jon (Mobes) the busted up 7M is out!! I love being part of the Supra community, always someone willing to lend a hand:thumbup:

Just got home (yes it's 3AM, driving 80mi takes a while..), best run was a 14.5@97mph in the corn wagon:
Must have been the #:
A few people got a taste of my license plate frame:
I'm super-stoked, my $100 beater with $600 worth of turbo stuff kicked some arse and was still driveable at the...
Got some decent work in today, about 80% there as far as prep for pulling the engine. Should have it out tomorrow :) Also got the interior pulled out of the Escort for tonight, off to the track I go, hoping for 14's :D
Looks nice, how'd you do the 2 different colors (masking etc.)?
In my 5.5yrs of marriage I've learned she's always right and that I should just shut it. 95% of the time she is right, and the other 5% ain't worth fighting over :D
This is the first weekend I've been home since before Christmas, started prep for removing the motor last night :) Took me about 2hrs to rearrange stuff and figure out where to put a 4th motor in the garage lol.
Unless I blow the Escort up at the track tonight and have to work on it, I...
