paper clip? Im not quite sure that I understand how you are using the paper clip. I got a jumper wire to set the timing with and the light works great when clipped over the jumper wire post-coil. Before the coil it doesnt work at all.

I think the next thing I will try is pulling the coil and installing a jumper wire. I tried out the timing light on my tercel and it works just fine. Maybe the signal after the coil will be strong enough.

So I got the ignitor wired in today. That took awhile but it is done now. The inductive pickup on my timing light will not recognize the signal going into the coil. Im wondering if anybody has had similar experiences with their timing light? I know that it is firing because when I take out...

Using a rattle can is not a good idea. The paint will not last. There is a difference between automotive paint and Krylon and there is a reason why one is more expensive than the other.
