Not having the stock ignitor after the AEM and before the c2di has to be my problem. Im leaning towards the C2DI not recognizing the signal from the AEM. The AEM tech explained it to me like this:
The toyota signal is a floater - basically it is a very small change to signal on/off (2.5 to...
Yeah I tried the bypass plug but keep in mind that I do not have an ignitor at all without the C2DI wired in.
I did this mod last night to my AEM. I messed with the settings for awhile, but I still get no spark......

IJ - thanks for putting that in bold so that I could really see it.
The air gaps are about .002 over the MINIMUM spec so they are well within limits. Additionally, the stat sync parameter comes on so I know that the AEM is getting both signals and that they are correctly synchronized.
I...
Well I just got off of the phone with AEM, and they said that it is not related to 58b. Not quite sure if I believe that but anyway.....
Also, Stat Sync comes on when I crank the engine so it is definately getting a signal from the CPS from both the Ne and G1 sensors. I also have the correct...
I dont think its the cam sensor - I think its the lack of pin 58B feeding back into the AEM which is the IGF signal from the stock ignitor. Since I have a CDI the AEM doesnt see this signal. I think the AEM uses it to verify its timing pattern before sending a spark signal.
Im running the MKIII CPS with a 1100 AEM box and im having some problems. Once I solve them i will type up the solution to share.... Basically, when I crank over the motor, I am getting no spark.
I am running a C2DI AEM ignition box and I have wired up as follows:
55B (Ignitor 3) - coil 3...
I have a set of ruff 280 chromies - I like the Ruff wheels. We will see how they hold up if i hit a pothole though - Im sure I will know in a few years.
You should check out my build thread and the links posted in the first page. Its really not difficult to get all of that stuff together.
2JZ NA->T baby.
Its kind of hard to put all of the wiring into one harness. Some of the wires go to the dash and others go to other sections.... And are you using a 7m ECU? 2j ECU? Standalone?
I assume that you will be using a 2j ECU. If so you need to follow this website...
I really want to post some more stuff up about what has been accomplished, but I am too busy working on the car! I will get some comprehensive pics and all that shiz when I get this thing a bit closer to being done.
still impressive Ron. I try to keep the comments to a minimum so I dont clog up your thread but its been awhile since I said anything.
I really like the cannon plug setup for your wiring. That shit is hot.
Well today I got the EMS to work in the car. I have the 9v fuel pump relay still intact with a 12v step switched on by a sw/ground on the AEM. I also have fuel cut for the 9v set on the AEM with some parameters that have yet to be established.
The fuel lines have been installed with a -10...
Yeah, usually a compression check is done when the motor is warm. Warm it up to operating temperature and then shut it off.
Thread or hold in the compression gauge in the spark plug hole (depending on what type of gauge you have). Crank the motor for a few revolutions. The pressure should...
I think 3mm is too thick - it will drop it down to less than 8:1. You will lose bottom end torque and spool time but be able to run a bit more boost than a higher c/r motor without the fear of detonation or preignition.
In other words you will sharpen the curve of your dyno graph.
Do a...
Sorry I dont know the thread pitch of the FPR/line but the FPR/rail pitch is 12x1.25
I used a 12x1.25 to -6 an adaptor and took out the stock FPR. www.anplumbing.com has a GREAT website and their prices beat just about everything else.
You could also take that banjo bolt to the specialty...
