before you remove them, get the car warmed up and do a WOT blast for a few seconds, maybe in 3rd till redline.
then as soon as possible get the car back and shut it down.
after that, there are lots of online resources to help you read the plugs.
actually i ment to check your plugs to get an indication if youve been leaning out.
it could be that they are improperly gapped, fuel cut, or you could be detonating. what you described could be detonation so dont rule that out just yet.
i had the earls lines on my old supra and the front left line started leaking at the fitting after maybe 8000 miles.
stock lines seem to out last any thing else. i didnt even notice a difference between the two.
for me, i stick with stock toyota brake lines from now on.

you can do 255/50, i had them and they were alright.
right now i have 245/50s with no problems at all.
EDIT:
i only have the 245s out back, and 225s (stock size) upfront. i have no idea personally if 245/50s will rub or not up front.
