LS1 is a beautiful thing, just like the 2J :) Just exhaust on your car is not going to help against a V8 like that, you need some more mods but good fun all and all

Need advice 60-1 T66 comp wheel

resurface them like I have mine, they weren't decked and run a 2.0 gasket. Remember when the stock is compressed you are at 1.37mm so with a 2.0 you'll be fine AND you'll have lower compression which in turns makes more boost, with the right tune of course haha

    Wiring my boost gauge.

I agree, mechanical is much easier to deal with, worst case a hose blows off unlike a short or some crap with electrical.

    metal headgasket

If you can have the block and head resurfaced you are good just like Kenny said, WIth the 2mm HG you will be lower compression which equals more boost (With the right tune of course) If you blow the MHG then you can cause serious problems of warping which is not good for the block or head.

    7mgte swap info

If you get a motor from one of these JDM/Ebay places be sure you have the intention of rebuilding it FIRST before you put it in your car. They clean them up to look good on the outside but the inside are usually a ticking time bomb waiting to go off

    My 7m-ge-t

I was in your same boat and almost did the GE-T but changed my mind and when with the GTE, why? Because I know it will hold more power which I plan on throwing at it. Once you taste boost you'll want more then that motor will not hold the slight increments of boost you give and BOOM! The gte...
