No I didn't. I did have one come to our dyno on an rb25 and it spooled awesome but had shitty top end. That probably had more to do with the rb head/cams than anything.
Anyone use that 935 turbo? How's it spool?
As some of you know I tried out using a holset hx35 12cm^2 on my old motor and while it was totally awesome I wish it would have spooled a little faster. I was hitting 15 psi around 4300 with that thing.
On the new motor the goal is to have 18psi under 4000 and ultimately make around 400whp...
its on the tps.
You can kind of trick it if you want just run 12v to it. your idle will be higher but it'll probably solve your revving problem. on toyota 4 wire tps it uses a trigger to put the ecu in "IDL mode" this circuit opens when you crack the throttle producing 12v. That tells the ecu...
They worked out just fine for me. Really easy to machine just put on a lathe. You just have to make the cam surface smaller on them and make the thrust surface wider on the exhaust cam just make sure you widen it by the front side of the surface ie: the rear of the cam seal journal.
iirc...
I usually buy an engine oil cooler or use one from an AE86 sine I have tons of those laying around. Get like 6' of 3/8" tranny cooler hose from autozone or where ever and you're all set.
Hmm that's cool. The 2j im getting has low compression on one cyl so I figured since I'd have to re ring it why not put in my 1j pistons? If the NA pistons will hang I guess I can reuse them. I'm only looking for about 450-500whp. Maybe 350-360 for drift.
I'd like the CR to end up about 9:1...
Last part of the video. This is old from 4.1.07 I had stock 1j :( Not the best footage of me but it's hard to get any.

nice lookin. This is a fun turbo. Raise your rev limit and get some cams? Which turbine housing you goin with? It sounds like the one on the turbo trader? I was looking at that one too seems like a good buy. I know you'll hit your goal that turbo boosts hard~!
Man this is cool.
