Swapping oem radio for another oem...what are the possibilities?

Does the 16814 require an external amplifier, or does it power the speakers directly?

    1986 GA70 1GZ-FE Build

Yup. Looks like this is another build that died before it was born.

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Oops, forgot to update yesterday. So some good news and bad news: Got the fuel system primed, and checked for leaks, all good. Removed the efi fuse, and cranked it for about 10 seconds to build up oil pressure. Didn't see any. Stopped cranking, and started wondering how much oil was in the pan...

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

So I just installed the new fuel pump... MAN, is it small. Here's a pic of the oem pump, a TRE performance pump(old), and the Keyshan pump(255lph) that I just got. The pen I've had for a long time, and is just there for reference. And here it is, on the bracket. The fuel filter looked...

Swapping oem radio for another oem...what are the possibilities?

Also- a question about anti-theft. If I do buy an anti-theft oem radio, do I have to go to the dealer to get the code?

Swapping oem radio for another oem...what are the possibilities?

As long as my replacement deck HAS a cassette function, i'm happy. But I would like to add the CD slot. Thanks for all that info, Silver Mk3. Now I just have to find a good deck.

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Small update: Just got home from a 3 day trip, and the fuel pump was waiting for me. If the weather is good tomorrow, I'll reinstall the tank, and see if I can crank the motor. I'm not even sure how long it's been since it last ran.

Swapping oem radio for another oem...what are the possibilities?

Hey guys, I have an '89 turbo, and the deck in it is stock, but has some issues(noise, broken backlighting), and i'd like to replace it with another oem deck. This is my cuurent deck: Heres two other oem decks; one is from a later supra, the other from a Rav4: Is there...

    GreenChevelless's Remorse: 1992 supra build

So, youre hitting fuel cut almost immediately, with the bigger turbo? That sounds about right. It should all be good once you install all the fuel upgrades.

    GreenChevelless's Remorse: 1992 supra build

    1987 7M-GE Rebuild

I always thought that a simple na upgrade would be a 2jzge on the 7mge electronics. Plus you have a good base for upgrades later down the road.

    1987 7M-GE Rebuild

Only one company makes oil pumps for our cars, Aisin, the oem supplier. However, if you want tighter tolerances, i believe that Driftmotion sells improved stock pumps.

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

The 89 and 90 models had this. I don't think its for a tweeter, but rather for air to flow for the 4" speaker.

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Getting closer...and farther away at the same time. You guys know how it is; You fix one thing, you find something else wrong. Here's the motor, entirely complete, with the exception of the rad/ fan/ shroud, which has to be swapped out of my '88. Also, I finally rebuilt my glovebox door...

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Slowly, the motor is coming togther, but i'm very short on free time these days. Yesterday, i installed new plugs and wires. Next, reinstall the igniter, upper ic pipes, and the afm. Hope to have it running very soon.
