Oops, forgot to update yesterday. So some good news and bad news:
Got the fuel system primed, and checked for leaks, all good.
Removed the efi fuse, and cranked it for about 10 seconds to build up oil pressure.
Didn't see any. Stopped cranking, and started wondering how much oil was in the pan...
So I just installed the new fuel pump...
MAN, is it small.
Here's a pic of the oem pump, a TRE performance pump(old), and the Keyshan pump(255lph) that I just got. The pen I've had for a long time, and is just there for reference.
And here it is, on the bracket.
The fuel filter looked...
As long as my replacement deck HAS a cassette function, i'm happy. But I would like to add the CD slot.
Thanks for all that info, Silver Mk3. Now I just have to find a good deck.
Small update:
Just got home from a 3 day trip, and the fuel pump was waiting for me. If the weather is good tomorrow,
I'll reinstall the tank, and see if I can crank the motor. I'm not even sure how long it's been since it last ran.
Hey guys,
I have an '89 turbo, and the deck in it is stock, but has some issues(noise, broken backlighting), and i'd like to replace it with another oem deck.
This is my cuurent deck:
Heres two other oem decks; one is from a later supra, the other from a Rav4:
Is there...
So, youre hitting fuel cut almost immediately, with the bigger turbo?
That sounds about right. It should all be good once you install all the fuel upgrades.
Only one company makes oil pumps for our cars, Aisin, the oem supplier.
However, if you want tighter tolerances, i believe that Driftmotion sells improved stock pumps.
Getting closer...and farther away at the same time.
You guys know how it is; You fix one thing, you find something else wrong.
Here's the motor, entirely complete, with the exception of the rad/ fan/ shroud, which has to be swapped out of my '88.
Also, I finally rebuilt my glovebox door...
Slowly, the motor is coming togther, but i'm very short on free time these days.
Yesterday, i installed new plugs and wires. Next, reinstall the igniter, upper ic pipes, and the afm.
Hope to have it running very soon.
