    No, Don't do that. Mufflers with resonated tips will NOT get you the sound you want. As for resonators The one bwest posted is a great choice.

    Get a new cable. Yes you do need the cable. You can adjust the line pressure in the valve body & run w/o it but I would only do this as a last resort. If this is your daily driver.     Yea, you can get a metel one. You will find them at Pep Boys, Autozone etc. I found mine in the "help" section. Better replace it now befor it dries out & breaks off in the Rad.

    Heat is your friend.. Use a heat gun or hold the hose over a burner. That will warm the the hose up & allow it to strech much easer.
