    1JZ issue, helping a friend

No piggy backs, just gutted from stock weight of 2700 pounds, no front or rear bumper supports, battery relocated, lightweight wheels, and just under fuel cut thresh hold, intake and open down pipe with large FMIC. I guess that's not stock, but I don't consider it really upgraded on factory...

    1JZ issue, helping a friend

Robert, I am actually not familar with the EFI sensor. Which one is this? His fuel pump is wired to the battery on a fuse + Bosch relay. Jay, he doesn't have an AFR yet, he's stock and beating 12.8 second cars with a stock auto. It's crazy how much 1000 pounds less makes BPU.

    1JZ issue, helping a friend

I have a friend who just swapped in a stock twinned 1JZ into his 240, and he's having problem with it running. It starts up on the first crank when cold, and idles fine. During cold running the car seems to work great. After it warms up, it's difficult to start and there is a huge drop off...

Try another pump. Try the stock one again. Which brand filter? Did you check for dents in the lines?

    Datsun 1jz overheating!

Did you measure how much coolant you put in to ensure you have filled it to capacity? What is your engine temperature before it overheats? Is it at the thermostat thresh hold?

    Fuel Injector Clinic or Sard

I'm not sure if there's so much of a performance difference with the injectors. I know that certain older ones aren't made very well (i.e. most 1600cc). Which makes the newer, larger units much more suitable for tuning with standalones and getting the idle right. Something to do with how the...

    272's cams on a 2jz-ge

You don't really NEED springs and retainers with 272's. Good to have. I have never, ever heard of a valve floating on any 2JZ with stock springs and retainers with most 272's (9.3mm lift). Ferrea stem seals are cheaper than OEM IIRC. I would definitely swap the stem seals out while you have...

    1jz running lean

Mmmm fuel pump or regulator (vacuum hose) maybe. That's if you didn't change any of the settings in the SAFC since before it began to give you problems. Code 31 is mass air flow on a 2JZ, yes. I know you said the pump's only 1K old. I still think it's suspect (after all it is a walbro)...

1ggte cranks but no spark (5speed89mk3)

Have you checked all of your sensors? Throwing any codes? If you're getting fuel, and no spark, it very well may be the ignitor. Situations like this with no history of how it was installed make it difficult.
