I read this, but I'm on stock Toyota pads and rotors so I didn't post. They came on the car when I got it and they still have a lot of life left in them. When they wear out though I will most likely go with an aftermarket pad like EBC or so. I think the stock pads stop the car pretty well, and...
For how much longer does your Supra have to pass emissions? I don't know what the California laws are, but I know they are strict. If it isn't for much longer you could buy the cat and hope it lasts long enough until you are in the clear and don't have to worry about emissions.
If your car has TEMS (which I assume it does if you have the illumina II's) then your car has the sport package which came with an LSD even on N/A models.
Yeah I know what you mean about the Autozone parts. I try and get as many parts from the Toyota Dealer or an OEM manufacturer, but some times the cost just makes it impractical. Hopefully it all works out with the Cardone one.
You could always go to a local Autozone and special order it. If it isn't what you want I would think you could return it on the spot since it would be unused.
As for the lifetime warranty, I have found that Autozone is really good with lifetime warranties as long as you have the receipt. My...
Let me know how the job goes for you. I need to do this on mine as well, but I am worried about loosing some little piece down into the head, or basically just making some stupid mistake. I've never gone that far into an engine before and would hate to mess something up.
Well I'm N/A so I won't be smoking them, but when you look at the specs between one of them and my car they aren't much faster especially for having 25 years on it. I've never been in a BRZ (I hear they are nicer inside), but a salesman at the Toyota dealer let me test drive an FRS with him when...
I just went through the Tokico website. It has been redesigned since I was last there a few months ago. I found their catalog and went through it. They have a lot of Toyotas in it, but when you get to the cars that start with "S" there is no Supra to be found. No MK3 or MK4 shocks of any kind...
I don't know if this is something that you guys could do, but floormats would be cool. I think a lot of people probably need them too. My driver side one is getting torn up and I would like to get factory replicas with the correct color and the MK3 Supra logo, but I don't think I can get any as...
Here's a small update.
I got the redesigned ballasts in the mail with the stronger ignitor and installed them in the car. The first time I turned the lights on they flickered a whole lot and took forever to warm up. Then the second time the driver one did the same thing and the passenger side...
OK, I didn't realize that those cars don't use the same sealed beams that the Supras used. It makes sense to me now. Sounds like an interesting project.
I don't have aftermarket shocks, but I have done some research because I'm sure mine will need replacing sometime. I believe the Koni's are considered to be very good shocks, similar to Bilsteins almost. You can search around the forum for "koni shocks" and should come up with several first hand...
I would have never guessed that...
What brand are the shocks and springs? I'm sure someone can give you some input.
Today I rolled over 87k miles in my 87 Supra. :) Also, this thread needs more pictures.
Yeah I care too. I like the way the projectors look as well, I think it looks better than the original Halogens also.
Definitely do the retrofit. It's so nice!!!!
