10/89 is gonna be a 90 model car most likely, go by whatever your title say's. In 89 they stopped putting the wiring in them so your's won't have it most likely. Like 3p said it is a lot of work to install one. I have an 87 that unfortunately didn't come with the wiring and once I found that out...
I think the super monitor computer gets tucked up above the brake pedal and clutch kinda. I'm not 100% though. It's been a while since I looked into getting one for mine. What year is your Supra, looks to be a 89+? If so then your car almost definitely does not have the wiring for the super...
That's a possibility. If gas prices stay as low as they are right now then I would like to do some traveling this summer anyway. Heck, right now I'm looking at making a drive a 6 hour drive to possibly pick up a sport hood for the 4Runner haha. I wouldn't mind making it out to a few car events...
The voltmeter should still work, For the super monitor you will probably just have to switch out the computers with one for a GTE instead of a GE as the computers base MPG and that stuff on the size of the injectors and the GTE has bigger ones. If you are going to a larger injector it may not be...
That's one of my biggest pet peeves. I get irrationally mad when I see people with HID's in halogen housings, or when they're driving their stupid diesel farm trucks to school and "rolling coal" on the little cars next to them purposefully. I'm not a huge fan of that whole crowd though...
I've...
I need to do the one I bought a few months ago sometime as well. Good to hear that you were able to do it without good soldering skills... I've only soldered a few times before...
It's so much fun to have something you can take where the pavement ends and then the gravel ends too. I just looked up that Toyota Jamboree thing. I might be able to actually make that. I'll keep it in mind and have to see how things are looking when the time gets closer. It's about a 9-10 hour...
Hmmm. This thought hadn't really crossed my mind. I'll definitely have to think about that. That's the really only doable way while I'm still in school since this event always takes place in the middle of the fall semester. If it wasn't I'd pack my bags and take a nice long trip across the...
Thanks! I appreciate all the positive feedback guys. Hopefully when the weather decides to start playing nicer here I will be able to get the Supra out more often and take some pictures and post them up occasionally. We don't get a bad winter down here, but it seems to be our rainy season and it...
Nice 4Runner! They're a lot of fun to play with aren't they? I've got an 01 4x4 myself. The Supra is looking good too, that's gonna be one seriously clean engine bay when its all finished up. Can't wait to see more updates!
Neat article. That's amazing that it sat there for so long unnoticed. For it's age and the fact it sat out for as long as it did it really isn't in bad shape all things considered.
Yeah, I've thought about that route too. If I would go with coilovers I would definitely get a quality brand because I've heard bad things about some of the lower end cheaper ones, which is to be expected.
Glad to hear you're happy with the new system. That single tip you chose still looks good.
What kind of camera do you use for your pictures? They all come out looking really good. I hate my Cannon so I never use it and only use my phone...
The progress looks good! Nice score on the exhaust. I've heard great things about that exhaust. I laughed at the "bro lean" picture. I see so many trucks like that every day, and I still can't figure out why people think that looks good...
It's a neat article. I read through it the other day. It's funny that you mention that super51fan. I was looking at lower control arm skids just last night for my 4Runner, but never would have thought about them for a Supra haha.
For a power leather seat that is adjustable in about 1000 ways as they are in most cases that isn't bad at all. The passenger I believe is about half that since it is not a power seat. Even if you put aftermarket racing seats in that weigh 30 pounds each you would only be saving about 60 pounds...
I'm not sure if you can source SEM paint in Australia, but I've used it on multiple sets of wipers, cowls, grilles, and other various trim parts and it always comes out good. Good luck finding new door hinges, some parts are starting to get hard to find for these cars as they age...
Yeah I'm pretty sure they would work too. I was thinking about that as well, that all the aftermarket shocks work for all years 86.5-92, so I would think these would too.
Thanks!
Supras are big heavy cars. There isn't much weight to loose. Everyone talks about how heavy the stock seats are, but when I pulled mine out to get a little more room on the inside to work under the dash I was really underwhelmed. The stock seat weighs nothing like I thought it would. I believe...
