    wires

Alright, then you've basically got what's considered pre 89 wiring in your car. Your 1jz harness is wired for a 90+ car, so none of the plugs will match up as you've noticed. You will need to have the harness rewired for a pre 89 style car or make an adapter for that harness to plug into your...

    wires

EDIT: Sorry, it looks like you might have the right plug under your dash...do they just have different numbers of pins or do they not plug in. (I'm trying to determine what wiring you have in your 89 since it varies.)

    JZA70 pinouts useable?

The signals from the sensors to the ECU are composed of some specific electrical requirements that Toyota decided on. For example, the MAP sensor outputs voltages in the 0-5v range which indicate boost and vacuum. If I remember correctly a sub 1v value indicates the level of vacuum and anything...

    no 1jz bov = bad?

BOV's prevent compressor surge. Its very possible not having a blow off valve caused your rear turbo to quit. 7m's have a stock bypass valve, which performs the same function, so if your friend was driving a 7m then it would be fine without a real 'blow off valve.' I would suggest...

    wires

The gray plug is the B3 plug, which you won't have under your dash if you don't have ABS or TEMS etc. The white plug is B2 and is for additional accessory wires 90+ car (more TEMS stuff, cruise etc). So neither of those plugs are actually needed if you don't have these accessories. You...

    wires

What year is your car? Those plugs are designed to plug into a 90+ year car. If you have an 89 they likely won't work.

    Water Pump replacement?

Its tough to tell exactly what's leaking there. It may be one or more of the gaskets in the water pump area, or it may be coming out of the pump itself, indicating a seal failure. Either way I'd pull the pump and check the condition of everything in that area.

    fluids

Most Toyota power steering systems call for ATF. I'm pretty sure the cap on the reservoir says use Dexron ATF.

    heater hose

Yeah my cooling hoses are technically hooked up 'backwards.' It doesn't really matter, the heater core valve just slows the flow from the other direction. It doesn't cause any problems with the cooling system. As for extending harnesses, your chances of problems depend on how good you are at...

How To Pass CT Emissions Testing Without Fear

Heh my 1jz passed CT emissions with no problem. Wayyyy under the limits. Thankfully they didn't pop the hood.

Wrecked RIP Supra Got a few Questions?

It will work just fine, every 89 I have seen has the early style plugs but they are gray. So it will be plug and play, however you will have to pull the headlight relay wire to the ECU or your headlights will stay on all the time. For some weird reason they changed only that wire between the years.

    has anyone ???

The dohc hose has been confirmed to work, I believe the sohc hose should work as well. They are very similar, I think they might just be different lengths.

    HKS SSQV Install

Honestly I think it would be much cheaper and better to install the BOV off of an IC pipe close to the throttle body, and disable the stock valve. That kit seems fairly expensive for what you get.

    has anyone ???

I've never heard of using the mk4 lines, so I can't say if they work or not. I can tell you that the cheapest option is a pressure line from a 94 Nissan Maxima. It costs about $30, and works great.

    has anyone ???

I've done several swaps using that method, and I believe Driftmotion uses that method as well. It sure beats extending all those wires, with this method you have to extend somewhere from 18 - 35 wires depending on options. Also, as far as that first quote, one of the body connectors under the...

    loosing coolant and stumbling issue?

Check the rad cap, sounds like its shot. The popping and revving thing sounds weird...have you recapped your ECU?

    Power steering 1jz swap

The Nissan hose uses banjo fittings like stock, and should come with crush washers. -Jon

    temp/oil sensor location

The temp gauge sender is on the passenger front of the motor, in the area where the upper radiator hose connects. The wire for it is generally yellow with a green stripe, pin 7 on IG1 if you have a supra harness. The oil pressure sender won't work off the bat like evilempire said. When you...

    2jz ge rail on 2jzgte

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, I remember that the spacing of the injectors is different between the two. Not to mention top vs side feed makes for two very different rails.

    Power steering 1jz swap

I've got no pictures for you, but yes, the one with the green arrow is the rack return line, where you'd connect the other end of the cooler. If you want a cheaper alternative to the Driftmotion pressure line I recommend one for a 94 Maxima, costs about $30 from Autozone and works & fits great.
