No - but with the units apart(which is the tricky part) it would relatively easy to design your own setup. The hardest thing would be getting an agreement on what design and configuration most people liked.
Cheers Fred, pics for my gallery always appreciated...
What d'you want to know?:icon_bigg
Basically, I get some old units....
and bake them in the oven....
to separate the internal components.....
some of which I chrome spray after thorough wash 'n polish...
I then make an exact replicas of the amber insert lenses...
In the meantime, here's the rear conversion I did for an owner here - in fact the only ones in the U.S. Unfortunately I believe the car has since been broken....I wonder who's wearing these super rare items now?
and this is what they looked like before.......
Hi te72,
Amber bulbs would indeed be required for most areas to be compliant.
Apologies if I've contravened the rules, I thought I'd previously proven my credentials back as far as 2006 - but that was a long time ago...
Morning/evening all,
Some of you will remember, a few years back I made a batch of these.....
I've recently had a couple requests for these but would need to make new mold for the job. Anybody else here interested? Price would be £25 GBP/pair + £5 to cover standard Air Mail and...
Bump......and thanks Fred, I thought they may be the same size, but you've confirmed they're slightly different. Have you got your car back yet? Look forward to seeing pics fitted.
Price is £32.50 GBP delivered. Payment is converted by PayPal at their prevailing rate, so I guess it works out about $65 USD.
Please note I only accept payment in £'s GBP. Current lead time is 2-3 working days from receipt of funds.
Evening All,
It's been a while since I've posted, but rest assured, I've not been idle and my latest item may be of interest. So here we are...
I have half a dozen orders to make first, but will be offering these from next week. Price is £30/pair plus £2.50 to cover PayPal and Air...
Loctite 595 is just clear silicone rubber. I used this first as any residue can be easily cleaned off the outside when cured. However this does not give the best bond strength.
I would suggest some sort of 2 part epoxy - very hard to find in clear they are mostly opaque(as is the silicone)...
Hi everybody,
Just to let you know the bubble type side repeater lenses are still available in clear and smoked.....
Price is £25 GBP/pair plus £3 to cover PayPal and Air Mail post. Amber bulbs can be supplied at £2/pair if required.
Regards fitting, here's a guide that was put...
No, but I'd need to establish there was sufficient interest. I'd also need a couple of pairs of original units to work from and AFAIK, we can't buy U.S spec parts over here from Mr.T.
I have the same issue with the U.S flat side repeaters for the MR2 mK2, which again, are not available in the...
They are indeed flat - they were made as a one off by a U.K owner who has now fitted my clear bubbles instead. The red Soop also has my rear conversions :naughty:
BTW only 7 pairs of these exist worlwide, 1 in the U.S and 6 in the U.K, and all of the conversions I have done myself :naughty:
Hiya Rob,
I presume you meant 'Damn why didn't I think of that before I fitted my clears' :naughty:
Given the number of views the thread's had, I guessed there must be more folks who'd be interested. I'm not one for bumping my own threads unless I have something new to add.
I only got...
Morning all,
Blimey, didn't realise it was so long since I posted.
Another option which may appeal especially to those with black cars is a smoked version.
Previously, I haven't had much success with tinting the plastic before casting as I found the result more sepia than smoked...
LOL......I was wondering what happened to you. Let me know how many sets you want and I'll let you knowhow soon I can get them done :naughty:
In response to continued questions regarding fitting, I have submitted an excellent illustrated fitting guide, kindly put together by Medallion Man...
In response to regular questions regarding fitting of the clear bubble side repeaters, here's a link to the illustrated guide put together by Medallion Man and JSeaman. Many thanks to both for all your efforts :bigthumb:
