    Lexus AFM and 550's

I also wouldn't do it without the Reimer screw or similar devise to limit the amount of un-metered air and to keep VF in check for a similar reason to what mkIIIman pointed out . Here again some people claim no difference.

    Lexus AFM and 550's

A lot of controversy over that same question (440's or 550's). Generally you'll have to take fuel out if you switch to 550's and 440's you'll have to add but I've done this to more than one 7M and the amount of adjustment will vary based on the engine. The safe route is the 550's (what isnms...

    Lexus AFM and 550's

You can use the stock sensor that was in the Supra housing. Just remove the screws and it will fit right in. DO NOT try and clean the post that goes in the hole.

    Annoying Window Rattle

Another check point for you guys if you didn't already know. It'll save you bunch of time and aggravation if you didn't. I just did mine and found after I replaced my felt window stops, bumpers, greased all the window tracks and aligned like crazy that although quieter, the window was still...

    Boost control Help !

There is a lot of debate of electronic vs MBC's. I did what sounds like a similar thing as you and went from a hardware store manual to HKS to Greddy and finally went back to manual. I settled on a Hallman Evolution RX Kit and have been running it for the last 4 years or so. A bit pricey but it...

People are aholes to the supra!

I bought a 68 Chevelle of a guy once and after about three days of driving it around I ran out the gas that was in it when I got it from him, and had to fill it up myself. At the gas station, the trigger auto shut off valve keep tripping and splashing gas out at me. I moved to another pump...

    manual vrs electronic

I've had several of both but prefer a good manual if it set up correctly (ceramic ball and correct spring for boost range). The one I use now is a Hallman Evolution RX . It has a cable that can reach in the cabin so you can adjust it on the fly as needed. I got tired of opening the hood all the...

HKS 264 cams on hand for 2jz! Now what?

If your 2J acts anything like my 1J with HKS 264's you'll really only notice a difference when it's cold. Once the engine warms up you can tell a little bit but if you didn't know they were upgraded you'd never be able to detect an idle difference. My cam gears are set at zero for now, stock ECU...

Oil Coming out of Dipstick!!!! Help!!!

Yep that's exactly what caused it. The engine was trashed, auto transmission was slipping in reverse to the point it would even go backwards but the body and interior was real nice and the price was right so I bought it anyway. It was a good place to start.

Oil Coming out of Dipstick!!!! Help!!!

Yes, if installing them improperly resulted in the rings not being seated correctly. Also if there was a stress fracture in the pistons at the ring seats you'll have the same issue. This happened to me. I had oil in my IC, IC pipes, friggin everywhere. I hope it's not that so make sure you try...

    Roof Rack?

So I'm crusing on Ebay seeing what MKIII's are out there and I see this Supra with a roof rack. I'm not talking about the kind you can put on temporarily but the like kind I have on my RX300 :aigo: I don't know if the owner is anyone on here but this is NOT an option I would have ever thought...

    Quieting the 1JZ-GTE Exhaust

The Tanabe Super Hyper Racing Medallion exhaust I have on my Supra 1J is actually pretty quiet until you romp on it. Before this exhaust I put an Apexi ATS in my N1 muffler and it worked really well. I was supprised the spring load was as accurate as it was and here again for daily crusing it's...

    1JZ with ct26

I have the CT26 setup on my car. I’ve had it for about a year now and love it. I can’t compare it to a twin setup because I took them off before the swap and went with this. I happen to have two freshly rebuilt CT26’s in my possession at the time a 60 trim currently on the car...

    Cam seal substitute

Yea, I tried that first. It appears they are on backorder and no telling when they were going to get more in so I was hoping to figure out an alternative that would be just as reliable in the long run.

    Cam seal substitute

I've read here in a few spots that folks have used the cams seals from a 95 Camry V6 (P/No 90311-38034) for their 1JZ but how well do they hold up in the long run? Can anyone that has done this confirm that they have been running this for a while with no leaks?

Any 1j guys with shaftmaster shafts?

I have the aluminum driveshaft from shaftmasters in my 1jz r154 setup and it works fine with the stock length intended for the 7M. That's how I ordered it to replace my steel (local made) 1 piece shaft which was for my 7M back in the day and it fit fine too.

    How to replace trunk struts?

I took my 10mm socket with me to the hardware store (Not Home Depot but a real hardware store) and purchased 4 plastic snap in hole covers that were slightly larger in diameter than the socket. I think they were 1 inch maybe 3/4 I can't remember. I then carefully determine where the bolts go...

    Driveshafts

Resurrecting this thread from the dead but a great product and equally as great customer service deserves to be promoted. I just got my 1 Piece Aluminum drive shaft a few days ago and put it on replacing my steel one piece which replaced my stock 2 piece. I have to say this is one awesome drive...
