wrong mostly.
Intake side of the head is dead nuts same. I have a non vvti lower intake with side feed 440s from a tt on my vvti 1jz.
also, wiring it into any car is the same concept. +b to +b, mrel to mrel, sta to sta, etc. It's all toyota so its simple. find what needs power and give it...
Your car needs two more doors.
J/k mike, looking good. Might drive out there Friday or Saturday to show you the vvti I if I get the time. Wanted to hit up thunderhill with some sideways action
Acquire multimeter
Turn on key
Check for voltage at all sensors/components that require it
Do "12v mod" to fuel pump
Enjoy. Vvti is awesome
Vvti is no different than non vvti as far as the general concept goes. The same exact things get power from the same exact places. And the...
nozzs sells a lot of crap on ebay. I got a 1j vvti manifold from them that needs lots of cleaning and the wastegate dump is facing the wrong way. that ones dump looks right.
but if youre going to have someone brace it it wouldn't be too much work. and they ship fast, got here in 3 days from...
I'm not sure but it's possible the sensors might work under different values from engine to engine and not work so well. Just a thought. Anyone that knows for sure chime in?
Dude, you shoulda bought that, it was a steal at 25 shipped! Your car is 20 years old and you never know what'll happen, and these things are awesome! It's now on the way to my house hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! When I get it in, I'll go ahead and look up the pins you need and then NOT share them...
After looking through diagrams it seems the earlier 2j's only have one crank sensor (ne) in the system, located in the distributor, as opposed to the two found in the later model non vvti's (ne) located in the distributor and (ne2) which is by the crank. So does any one know if the trigger...
Unless you're getting absolutely everything for free and like headaches, don't waste your time. The headache has nothing to do with the electrical side. If you don't care about performance, why not keep the 4m? Spending a dollar on a bhg'd 7m is the same thing as wiping your ass with said dollar...
toyodiy.com
You can figure out what car it's from there. As for evrything else, tear the harness apart and trace? There's info out there, search more. Try jzz30 vvti, soarer vvti, stuff like that. If you can't find the info you are looking for, I would suggest you have someone else do these...
Since you obviously don't care about performance too much, I would suggest going 2jz n/a auto from an sc300. Motor mounts, misc hoses, 7m electronics, you could do the whole thing for like a grand. There's 2 2j/auto combos on my local cl for $400 right now
