I have a 1989 NA auto car that I am building. The stock 7MGE was a bit rough but I have a solution for that. I will be going with a LS based v8 swap. This build has been in progress since 2012 when I bought my house and finally had a place to work on a project. however that was shortlived and i...
actually the ls6/ls2 heads were either casting 243 or 799, the truck l33 engines came with the 799 casting, the only difference between ls1 and 6s were the intake manifold up until 2001, cylinder heads and camshaft,
going on slowly, harness is about 75 percent there, i am starting with my cooling system and air intake. i wil be doing an angle mount radiator and a full 4" aluminum intake piping below the headlight bucket for cold air
neither I am using adnvacned adapters bellhousing, the link i found was on http://www.gmpartseast.com/pontiac/components/2009-solstice_5-speed-manual-transmission-2-case-2m040140104-lnfma52mg67.html
im looking for part numbers for the ar5 front bearing retainer as well as the gxp slave cylinder. i need to convert y r154 to an internal slave cylider due to lsx and long tubes being in the way. does anyone have any leads on these numbers?
i got my new mounts forward 1.5 inches, now the long tubes clear and shift will have to be be bent back a little bit. the cx racing long tubes do have some flaws that i will be recorrecting. i will try to get some pics up today or tomorrow
truthfully i wish i went with tremec from the beginning, peicemealing the drivetrain has brought a lot of issues
1. the motor mounts that mightyal provided in cad are awesome, the engine and trans bolt up perfectly....
2. since i am using and are going to use the long tubes, they were built...
im going with a lm7 iron block, bored to 3.90" using ls6 internals, 243 heads and ls6 intake. i just got my cx racing lsx longtube headers for the mk3 yesterday. my project has been very slow in the making coming up on 2 years now. looking forward to this build
so its been about a year to the day and Im starting to get some more parts for the project.
cxracing makes a set of lsx logn tube headers for the mk3, however the issue is that the clearances are so tight that i need to convert to a hydraulic release bearing.
im trying to get a hold of spec to...
its a bummer to hear that you are selling. Ive been lagigng on even getting my project started even though ive had parts collecting dust for over a year now
so I put my engine and trans together and it seems that the throw out bearing I am using is too short, did you use a advance unit or off the shelf. I figure I have time until I break the two apart to address the issue. for my exhaust im leaning towards true dual just for the it factor, 2.5" all...
I actually had a guy at work machine me the engine mounts based on you cad file. I TIG welded them together and I used ford bronco isolators, I finally got to drop my iron block 346 into the bay to test fit it. Everything went tits. Im torn if wan to go turbo since I have a TC78 sitting on my...
Ive been looking at exhasut options and I think a y pipe maybe all that fits. I want to do an xpipe with true duals but im sure space would be quite limited
mighty al
do you have any pictures or measurements of underhood clearance for intake and throtte body, I havent set my engine in the bay yet however I am curious if a truck steyle intake from a trailblazer ss will fit. also if the truck style accesories will fit also. looking good and cant wait...
