Thanks. Liking it my self also.:biglaugh:
That black satin coat is great stuff. You just have to be careful not to over spray it. Too much makes it drip and also can cause cracks when drying. You also should solvent washand blast and then again solvent wash the surface...
Freezed my fingers today........ Yep I was at my garage.:biglaugh:
Had to go there and try my manifold/turbo combination in place. The reason why is that can't (or wont) use the original turbo oil drain hole in block. Going to route the turbo drain in oilpan so can get it more vertical. If I...
:biglaugh::biglaugh:
Yep, that is the German style. I purchased the car from Germany in 1996 and it was my DD for three years. Now the car is waiting to be restored and getting it to museum plates. Only non original parts are the big horns.
Exterior looks good but the enginebay and interior needs your attention. How much was the car.... if I may ask??
Someone wanted the car to ride bit higher so he installed some hockey puck height adjuster.:biglaugh: Some people are just soooo creative and use the materials at hand.:aigo:
Here is some real HC machine porn.:naughty: I need to have these machines!!!

Imagine all the nice things that you could make for your car if had these machines.
Cam gears are almost ready. Only threads and then black oxiding to do. Gears have -10...0...+10 adjustment so it shoud be ok for my setup.
Still quite cold during the night but days are getting warmer so mady next month OldCrappy starts to go back in one piece.:icon_bigg
Some material had to be shaved off from the hub but nothing major. It's a tight fit and like I told before it would have been easyer if I have used the Z300 calipers that have shorter mounting ears.

TechLine Black Satin. It's a ceramic coat that shoul hold temps over 2000 fahrenheit. Easy to use solvent base paint. One thin layer is enough. Before owening it's quite shiny but after owen it has realy nice satin finish.
Also the idea is that it keeps the enginebay temps down (since it's...
Now the parts have been in an owen and damn that Black Satin looks good.:biglaugh:
Had them in a owen for one hour in 600 celsius (1112 fahrenheit).
Still -20 celsius during the night so it's going to take at least one month before I can get working on the car.
The R34 GT-T rotors are bit smaller than 350Z brembo rotors so if you want to use R34 rotors you should get the 300Z calipers that have shorter mounting "ears". The 300Z calipers would have been better for me also but I realize it when I already had all the parts.
Finally had the time to coat the exhausmanifold, turbine housing, turbine housing exit and T4>T3 flange. Used TechLines Black Satin coat.
Also started fabricating adjustable cam gears. Yep I know you can buy them..... but the ones that you can buy are made from aluminiun and for me thats...
Was thinking coilovers for my oldcrappy but since a good (D2, Megan racing, BC Racing, CX RAcing etc... are not good. Just my opinion no pease to anyones nose:biglaugh:) coilover setup is quite expensive (1500.......3500$) here in the north. Tein Flex would have been my no. 1 coilover choice but...
Does the Wilwood calipers have dust seals (gromets) for pistons?? Have seen some Wilwood calipers and the reason why didn't use them my self was the fact they dont have dust seals. This means that you have to service them more often and well I'm bit lazy. :biglaugh:
My friend used Wilwood...
Hi,
My combo is :
Front : 350Z disk (324mmX30mm, Brembo) and skyline R34 GT-T 4-pot calipers
Rear : mk3 stock disk and skyline R33 GTR 2-pot calipers
350Z disks are nice since you dont have to remove the disk dust cover. Also the 350Z center is bit larger so you just need a reducer to...
Here is one that I was looking before decided to do it my self. http://www.racingpartdepot.com/servlet/the-2655/OBX-T3-TO-T4/Detail
Again it would have been cheaper (in a way) to buy one than make it my self. But when making it my self I could get the thickens right for my setup and fit the...
