right now i'm running the 4.30. i took a 3.73 lsd and swapped out the ring gear. i drag the car alot and the only track we have around here is 1/8 mile. mine and my buddys supra have the same mods, only difference is his rear end and all the way up to around 90 i demolish his car. higher end he...
i don't know if this will help you or not, but a similar problem happened to me a few weeks ago. my car would run fine if i only gave it about a 1/4 throttle and didn't hit boost. when i gave the car wot and it would try to boost it would feel almost like fuel cut and not go over about 4k rpm...
the stock ge did not have an oil cooler. you definately want to have one. if the swap motor doesn't have it with it and you're gonna have to get one you might as well go ahead and upgrade to one that runs off a thermostat. there are plenty of threads on here about them and the benifits
the other stock 7m down there was posting alot better 60' times. i was spinning like hell when i hit boost. this was with tires that were done for and an open 4.3 rear end. i got my rear end out tonight and my tires ordered. i'm hoping i'll have everything buttoned up by friday and i'll let you...
60' times were horrible at around 2.8 to 3. i thought about wheels, but i'm just starting to drag this car so i'm sure it will show me some weeks spots shortly where i'll have to drop some more cash.
thanks frontier...thats what i was looking for. i looked at the mt tires but i didn't want a tire as wide as they are right now since i still drive the car on the street as well. i'm just afraid they would roll too much on corners. i'm gonna go ahead and order the nittos tonight then, and we'll...
you can switch back and forth from conventional to synthetic as much as you please. i used to work at valvoline for about 5yrs. the additive package of a synthetic is the same as conventional, just more. the oils use the same base stock. even if you use a synthetic i personally still wouldn't...
i am familiar with 2steps. the reason i'm getting tires is because the ones i have on the car right now are dirt. i've been dragging f or a few years now so i'm not bad at launching. still room for improvement, but not bad. i just haven't heard a whole lot about these tires and was curious since...
hey guys. i just took my car out for its maiden voyage at the track last night. she's an 87 with a 7m turbo swap full 3" exhaust and intake. right now the car only makes about 10lb boost, but as i quikly learned with an open diff and crappy street tires thats more than enough to spin like crazy...
i don't think that there is a break in the wire. i tested the connectors at the headlights themselves. when the switch is on, all three of the terminals are getting 12v. i cant make heads or tails of the wiring diagram that i have and i dont know what they should be at but they are all def...
all the fuses are good, and i can hear the relay clicking when i turn on the headlights. i tried another relay that was know working and still nothing. i should mention that it did this before and then mysteriously started working again
so for about the past week my headlights have been working then the othernight i'm driving and nothing. brights work and when the low beams are on the fogs work. i can't seem to find a good schematic of the headlights either. i put a volt meter on the headlight connectors earlier and when...
lol i've got a two car garage that i can only fit one car in. i've went through two completely wrecked parts cars to put into my one. everything i thought i would ever be able to use (even if it's 20 years from now) is stacked including two interiors 3 drive shafts 3 sets of headlights trannys...
problem solved....put my new pickup screen on and cleaned the tank and replaced shotty fuel lines. pulls hard through all gears at all rpms now. after driving for a while now i've got code 31 so i guess tomorrow i'll check the afm. doesn't seem to be affecting the car when i'm on the gas, but it...
not sure on the noise when coasting, hard to say without actually hearing it. as far as the "compressor surge", i doubt it. if the motor is pretty much stock you wouldn't be pushing the turbo enough for it. when i upgraded my intake it made the bypass valve alot more audible. the stock valve...
if its just a matter of measuring clearances, i should be able to handle it. i just didn't know if it needed to be balanced or anything when the seals were replaced. i've got the money for a new one if it comes down to it, but i wanted to hear it was possible for me to do without screwin it up...
