The one that comes out of the rail I think is a 12mmx1.25 to -6AN. The throttle response check the cable itself may be loose. Check over everything really good vac lines timing ect retrace your steps check your plugs.
You can also find the greddy straight pipe but it eliminates a bunch of stuff like recirc valve the PCV lines that come off the valve covers and some other things as well. I ran a catch can and an SSQV looks a lot better and raises octane because the oil is not being vented back into the intake...
You can use 2+2 to check intake leaks just spray it around the intake while the car idles and it will rev up if a leak is present also vac lines as well.
Yea I would say abort!! ASAP!! Most places will tune the Neo for less than $1000 I would think. I am not from your area but I got a quote of $600 for an AEM tune plus or minus.
North West connecting rod have been very informative so far, have not used them but I hear great things. I spoke to them today and gave me a great price for fully reconditioned rods and is going to call me back on piston coatings and what they can hold. He said the rods will be fine. Also...
Yea thats a gamble old alum. is a beeee. Mock it up on a bench first and see if it all torques up if not well do what you have to do. I always go overkill on stuff like that so what I did was pull em all drilled tapped and put steel inserts and allll new studs. Time consuming, but peace of mind.
Yea 500 is a bit much for a stocker. The junk yard I go to is really cheap about 40 bucks for the head and like 25 per cam and cover so around 150. But that's a chance, I am going to get some dye and I have a good straight edge and go for it. I can check a yard by me in NJ I know a guy who has a...
A reman starter can fail very quickly same with alternators if not built with good parts and a good mechanic. Look into it they may have not found the problem until they made a pull and realized something was wrong. Did they make more than one pull? If an injector doesn't "engage" at all the car...
Well my friend I can say I know EXACTLY how you feel, same hose got me but driving down the road luckily just before I got to the shop it was going to. Not to mention I forgot to tighten the clamp on the spout that comes out of the rear of the head. Well hopefully that's all that it is.
Does the car run now? Time constraints? Money issues? What I did was build up certain bolt-on's cause I didn't want my car to be down for extended period of time, and all that stuff was busted or neglected lol. Built motor coming next spring

IMO a sealed gasket is harder to scrap off than an RTV gasket, the RTV comes off pretty easy with some carb cleaner and a nylon brush as to a plain gasket usually needs a good scraper that can gouge the aluminum. P.S. if used properly and installed properly it will not fail! Again just my 2...
Sounds good! well hope it doesn't return, reading other post's the stock fan and shroud is very adequate. Also ebay crap like you said is just that lol
You threw me off when you said rebuild. Well I used a chepo ebay kit on my top end, less the HG went cometic MLS for that, but just use your finger to spread a very light coating of gray or black RTV on both sides and follow the instructions on the tube. Mine haven't leaked yet! It was either...
Another affirming point of the temp gauge. Thank you. Well let me know what you find, also doesnt the EGR cooler run into the intake as well? Its been 2 years since I had mine apart cant remember or look at mine cause I blocked it off lol. Good luck man hope it solves the problem!
The cleaner loosens it the brushes push it all the way threw. You are rebuilding it right? If so the oil pan should be off of it. Any way just a thought do what you like. Just pulling a motor apart sends gasket and external build up debris into the passages. Or you can have it pro. cleaned and...
Get a bunch of brake cleaner as well and jegs sells a wire brush kit that is just for cleaning oil and coolant passages. Also if you have access to a compressor to blow everything out VERY VERY well is a good thing to.
