When my back fully heals, just had a fusion a few months ago 6-8 month recovery, I plan on getting some real work done and show some progress. Waiting on a buddy to pull the motor out of a 89 cressida and going turbo with it for a while then if I get the rest of the car good I just might go 2j...
The right thing to do WOULD HAVE BEEN to sell it 15 minutes after I bought it when someone offered me twice what I paid for it, now I can't get a 1/3 of what I have into it, ahhh yes.
Yea I have to resize the new pic's and get em up, I have the interior gutted and new targa seals, the cause, to be done this spring. My sister is going to do a custom interior and reupholster the seats.
Thanks for the heads up guys, I have never heard anything good about any OBX product. I think I will go AEM, I heard titan's gears are the same thing as a Fidanza gear, true?
I bought this 1987 7MGTE in 2007 and it was in terrible shape BHG Blown turbo frozen calipers moldy interior leaking gas tank I mean you name it it was messed up in some way shape or form.
Since then I have done the following:
KYB GR-2 Struts
Eibach lowering springs
NGK Plug wires
New Heater...
Drift motion is reasonable for a lot of things, the FPR comes with lines and all. Bearings, well I hear that the clevite's are the best or ACL. The lube look in JEGS or SUMMIT for assembly lube. And from what I hear the wally 255 @ 500WHP is a little risky for an extra 100 for the pump and...
Well some eagles and JE pistons are available for around 1000 for the set, and the ebay AFPR is not a good idea, cheap and go fast don't mix. I have learned the hard way. As far as the intercooler CX racing is pretty good I used the kit they have, the only part that takes a little fabbing is the...
And even if the head is prepped the block may need some as well, I have rushed things like this when I was younger and ended up just like this and worse every time. Learned some patience and planing skills and I am confident that next summer my MK3 will be a solid beast with all new suspension...
Careful with the AEM, if you use the start up tune they give you, mine had the FP trigger set at 0 RPM so as soon as the key turned on the pump wood keep running it actually made the motor sound like it was growning! Result was hydro locked motor and washed the cylinders so now it smokes. The...
Correct me if I am wrong but don't you need a resistor pack for the high impedance style? Also AEM told me that if you don't it will not only burn up your wiring but the drivers in the ECU.
Yea $400 for a turbo can't be good, the precision billet wheels alone are $400, and a CHRA is more than that. Turbo's, like all other performance parts, should not be skimmped on you will regret it later! I did it on a boosted acura good pistons rods ect ect cheap turbo= torn down at 30K due to...
IMO I wouldn't pull the vac line because that may lean it out to much, the purpose of that line is to reference the boost and raise the fuel pressure per pound of boost. You may be able to turn the pressure on the FPR down a little or raise the boost a little to get it to around 11 at least.
